Update

Last Sunday I went to the wake for my coworker Cathy's son. One of my other colleagues, Jennifer, was kind enough to go with me. She was concerned that it would be too hard for me. But I was ok. Thankfully I can hold it together until I leave. Cathy's son was 28 when he passed. He was waked on his 29th birthday.

Cathy's son passed from an accidental overdose. She has two other adult children. Heatbreaking. As I hugged Cathy, she said, "I will need to talk to you." I said, "Of course. May I call you this week?" She said, "Yes." I called her yesterday and left a voicemail message. She hasn't called me back. I will check in with her in a week or so. She may not be ready to talk and that's ok.

Thank you for sending her good thoughts and praying for her. I will invite her to FMO when I get the opportunity.

Last night I went with to a wake with my granddaughter Christina. Her coworker Amanda died suddenly last weekend from cardiac arrest during a seizure. She had lived with epilespy for many years. She was only 37 and left 3 children. I looked in Amanda's mom eyes and saw all of us; all our pain. We know how hard the first hours, days, weeks, months are and how much it hurts. I will try and contact her and offer some support. I didn't know Amanda but my granddaughter really liked her and they had gotten to be friends at work and socially even though Christina is only 24. I was proud that my granddaughter was able to go and pay her respects even though it brings up Eddie's passing for her. I was glad she asked me to go with her since I know it would have been hard for her to do this alone.

It's been a sad week. I wish no one had to begin this journey.

Love and peace to all, Linda

Linda, I feel your heart and it is definitely heavy from such a week of grief. You are so good to try to reach out to these friends and acquaintances. My prayers continue for your friend and will be with your granddaughter's friend and her family. I hope the coming week will be restful for you.
Sending love, Leda

It has really been a sad week for you, sharing in two families' intense pain. I believe that you will be a welcome anchor to them when you reach out to them, in a time when friends and relatives usually withdraw and abandon them. You are a brave mom, Linda! xxx

This has been an emotional week for you dearest Linda. I can think of no one I would want more than YOU to be there to hold my hand and heart through these sad events.

Take care of yourself as I understand how these take such a pound of flesh. Deepest of sighs...

Loving care to you dear mom of Ed from Douglas and me.

I know this is very hard but in this world it is an evil necessity. I do hope you helping others in this world will help your healing. I have not been to any funeral since Mikes it may never happen.

Sending tight hugs
