Update 9/22/13
Cancer is an illusive beast, isn't it? My sister compares it to the bubonic plague, wiping out whole segments of a population.
My husband and I just returned from Niagara Falls and Canada, where we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary a little early. I suggested we go now while we can, although our anniversary is actually on October 16th. My sister and her husband will celebrate 30 years together on that same date.
I saw my sister a few days ago, and she looked surprisingly better than she has in a while. She is losing weight, as she has lost her appetite, but her color looked good and she is still working in her garden. I am amazed at her strength. She will have a scan in about 2 weeks to see if the small amount of chemo that she is taking for palliative treatment has had any effect on the cancer. She was not able to continue with the experimental program after 2 treatments, as it made her extremely ill.
I keep having 2 dreams/visions. In the first vision, I am a salmon gasping at air on the bank of a river. I have completed my mission, my life. It is over. In the second vision, I am riding on a huge bird, along with my grandmother, mother, and sister, who have all fought the great fight with cancer. I can hear the steady beats of the birds wings as we are riding away.....

I\'m glad your sister is looking better and that you still can share time together. Dreams can be rather interesting. I don\'t dream often - or maybe I just don\'t remember them when I wake - ha. My husband\'s Aunt studied dreams many years ago at the Jung Institute in Switzerland. That must have been very interesting. I have you and your sister in my prayers. Brenda
I am glad you had a chance to visit your sister! I hope your dreams are giving you some peace.
