Update 3 weeks post surgery.

This update is to share my progress as well as let my DS friends know that I have not forgotten how frustrating TN can be.  My fervent prayers and concern for you will not end.   It has been 21 days since my MVD procedure.  That equals 21 days without TN pain.  These days without the taunting of jaw pain and sharp spasms from forming words are wonderful.  Tooth brushing is no longer a daunting task.  Shaving doesn't hurt. Thank God for those good people who stood by me when times were rough.   My wife is a kind, loving person anyway but she has been a pillar of strength through it all.  Even when I was nearly 300 miles away while working, I knew I could call her just to gripe about my pain.  Thank you Darlin', the love of my life. One cannot fully appreciate the suffering of others until that person has been under the grip of the infirmity they are experiencing.  For those who doubt that TN and Fibromyalgia is a real condition, I hope you don't have to experience it to find out.  I didn't have to deal with Fibromyalgia but I think I understand the mechanism behind that affliction now. Many thanks to all my friends and relatives.  You were all a great encouragement to me.  To those with TN, don't give up, there is help out there.  Don't let anyone stop you from getting a good diagnosis and fixing your problem.

Ahhh, my friend happy days are here again for you!!! And me. My Neurosurgeon called me yesterday, one month after my Gamma Knife procedure and took me off one of my 3 pills a day that I have been taking. Today I am taking the morn and even pill and not the lunch one. I am scared to death that the pain monster will jump on my back and ride me to the ground! But, so far so good. It\'s 3:19 pm and all\'s well. I just hope that everything took and I , too, am on my way to recovery.
Good luck and take care.

I wouldn\'t think of leaving my DS friends, marcie. It\'s been a little under 3 months since the MVD and still no TN pain, but it is fresh in my memory. I am blessed to share any info that will lead you all to a better life. I will be as close as the nearest internet connection and checking the blog even if no emails show an update.

I\'m so glad I found you. My husband had MVD of the left side middle nerve that effects the cheek area on May 26, 2010. He still has some pain, but no where near the degree of what it was. He is human again! It is wonderful to find someone who has had a successful operation. I\'ve been afraid that it will come back. Your story has been inspirational. Thank you!!
