Update 1/15/2015

1/12/15
I was hospitalized for 2 days beginning 1/12/15 and given IVIG therapy for 2 days.  I was IV infused with Gamunex-C 100 grams per day for 2 days for a total of 200 grams.
Since 1/1/15 my left eyelid would not open even a tiny bit.  It felt like all of the muscles were flaccid and the skin around my eyelid appeared loose, swollen and crepe looking.  I had limited muscle movement of the left eye in the down position and minor limited movement in the up and left (towards the nose) position.
I sometimes had a strange feeling that the left side of my face was "melting".  It felt like my facial muscles on the left side were losing strength and relaxing.  I also had some left hand weakness.
Today is day 2 after IVIG.  The only side effects that I have had so far is a moderate headache upon awakening.  I am taking Tylenol and drinking plenty of water.  It is really a minor nuisance at this point.
HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS!  This morning I awoke and my left eye was actually about 1/3 open!  After taking my morning dose of Mestinon, my left eye was about 1/2 open!  It is now 12:33pm and my left eyelid feels stronger as the day goes on.  I have not been able to open this eye at all for 15 days and now today, boom!  I am hopeful, but I know that sometimes the benefits of IVIG can be short lived.  So I am just hopefully waiting and will journal every day my progress.
