Update

After my latest thryoid ultrasound it was discovered I had a multinodular goiter.  I then had a fine needle aspiration biopsy performed.  Luckily the results from last week showed no malignancy yay!  The endocrinologist feels that I am at high risk for diabetes and recommended metformin to prevent it and I have agreed to start taking it at this point.  I had an endoscopy on Monday for long term stomach issues.  All it showed was mild gastritis and heartburn.  The bile aspirate showed no crystals so no apparent gallstones.  I go back soon for a follow up with the gastro. Until then I need to make sure I take my Aciphex at least an hour before breakfast and use whatever I can to best manage my stomach.  I am having an MRI of my knees done soon.  Luckily my x ray shows no need for knee replacement yay!  If the mri turns out okay then I will be getting gel injections for knee pain.  If not they will do a repair of what the problem is and then cortisone injections.  I went back to the ENT this past week for a follow up.  The congestion that was really  messing with my hearing is gone thank goodness.  He said my eustachian tubes don't function correctly so that is why I may periodically get problems with them luckily this time it was managed with methylpredisone for a short period of time and Sudafed.  If there is ever a time that doesn't work I may have to get tubes in again.  I am hoping to avoid that of course.   Well that is all for now. Later all. Cheryl
