I am over my pity party - for now!
The news isn't any better but I am coping much better. There is joy to be had in this world.
Joe and I really don't celebrate the holidays any more but I do enjoy seeing others happy and creating memories. I like to wander around the mall a day or 2 before Christmas, and watch the shoppers frantically trying to find that last minute gift. It brings back memories of Lisa and I out on Christmas eve, shopping for stocking stuffers - mostly socks! Andrew looked forward to Christmas because he knew he would be getting socks to replace the holey ones from last year.
This roller ride is something I don't wish on anyone. But it is my ride and I am making the best of it.
Wishing my SOTH love and peace this Christmas and always.
Lisa - I miss the joy and hubbub of Christmas with you and the family. I cherish the memories. I miss you always and love you forever. Mummy

Hugs!! Love my memories too but sure miss my girl!! LISA LISA.......
I'm with you and enjoy too watching all the young families and remembering back to those precious years. I adored our Christmas traditions and we still keep a few of them.
It is so funny that you mention socks as Haven said that her brother said, "You know, all that grandparents ever give you at Christmas time are socks!" LOL! Yes, replacing those "holy" or "holey" ones no matter how you want to look at it is what it's all about. :)
I'm missing the hubbub with you dearest Marlene and send a tight (((hug))) of so much understanding.
Peace and Light to you and yours during this holiday season,
XO Joanie
This journey is such a rollercoaster ride of emotions, so grateful we all have each other. I fell into a deep depression after Thanksgiving , just questioning everything, sort of a crisis of faith...what's the point of life, is there really a Heaven that our souls go to and is Doug there, am I really getting messages from him...all these things running through my mind , sobbed like I haven't in a long time, nothing would console me. Slowly I have come out of it, choosing to believe again.
When my mom was alive she used to give me as a gift a box of nice, pretty underwear every year. I kept the tradition of giving underwear with my boys...a box with boxers and socks...I think to this day Matt counts on it.
Be as gentle and good to yourself as you can. Tight hugs xo
I am glad you are coping much better. There is a lot to be said for "just coping". It doesn't take much for me to also have a pity party like Doug's Mom said. I haven't put a tree up yet but I guess I will in the next few days. Jeff's girls and my daughter and her girls will be at our house on the 20th. It's different but I am thankful for the time we have with the girls and our daughter.
I like what you said: This roller ride is something I don't wish on anyone. But it is my ride and I am making the best of it.
This is exactly how I feel.
Tight hugs to you....Nell
Hi Marlene, I'm happy to hear you are coping better & seeing the joy in the world. I'm with you - this journey is truly a roller coaster of emotions. I miss my old life, hearing my son say, "Ma" and listening to whatever he wanted to share with me, good, bad or otherwise. The little things...
Grateful my grandson survived his recent health scare, grateful my granddaughter is doing ok & the great-grandies are all healthy and happy but I feel empty at the same time. I guess it's just the nature of the beast, this grief. Trying to focus on the meaning of Christmas & that helps but the longing is always within.
Wishing you love and peace this season too.
Love always to you and your beautiful Lisa from Ed and me, Linda ♡
I cut back this Christmas just the bare minimum of decorations. Just because I am not in the mood and the twins are older and they are not worried about a big tree and lots of fun stuff around the house. I hope you and Joe do well this Christmas, I guess we should go back to the real reason for Christmas instead of worry about how much we get for people.
Sending hugs your way
Penny
