Up too late
I'm up late at night and I should be in bed. I made egg muffins and watched Bates Motel after 10pm, so I'm not mentally where I should be. I'm having a lot of weird pains as well, which only serves to keep me awake and a little alarmed by my body. I'm retaining water like crazy. My feet are swollen and I can feel the fluid in my feet and ankles. Yuck. It's my own fault for eating junk. Then sitting or standing in one position for too long. But I wake up hurting. Either my head or my arms or my hands...
DH had gastric bypass surgery almost 4 years ago. He's worried about my health and wonders if I am a candidate for bariatric surgery. According to the charts and figures, I probably am. Not weight wise, but when the additional health problems are added, I'm looking at needing to lose at least 50 pounds. I have been able to get on and stay on a low-carb diet before, but it's not sticking like it should this time. I am tempted by things that did not used to bother me. If I could take phentermine or something along those lines it would help get me back on track, but with high blood pressure, I'll never get to take anything like that again. With all of my pain I do not know if I could do the gastric bypass surgery like DH did, anyway. What would I do if I had a migraine? Just the average headache? I know myself and I would do something stupid like take motrin to deal with pain. I half wonder if my liver and stomach aren't riddled with holes from all the pain meds I've already taken.
I did get some good things done today. I interviewed a caregiver for my son. She will be here on Monday afternoon and Friday mornings. I felt like that was a prayer answered. Also, I need to make some flashcards for my son and an app that I can use for just that purpose went from $30 to FREE, so I felt as though God knew I was going to need it. Awesomeness.
I am starting to feel drowsy, so I'll try to go to bed. I just heard a crash sound from one of my kids' bedrooms. It was probably one of the girls bumping into the wall in the night. I detest weird nighttime noises!
The tornado in Oklahoma is so sad. I want to know more about it but I'm afraid to know more. I don't want to take on another person's grief.
We'll try again with life tomorrow.
