Until now?
Wish I would have done this awhile ago. Finally - I made an appt. for T to see a counselor. The one we have come to our house isn't what we are looking for. He is still good to have - for support but he's not a counselor. He likes to hear himself talk and is always interrupting. He doesn't listen and talks about his own daughter way too much. How can T share anything with him? He does, however, have some insights and uses medafores to paint the picture he wants - and is good at that - but as far as really listening....he isn't good in that department. I did talk to T's future counselor yesterday and he asked me if it's okay for us to be counseled as a family - doesn't want to step on anyone's toes. I said it's no problem. I really don't think we need it now.....but who knows....maybe we might in the future. T did test positive for pot, like he admitted to but nothing else - which is good. Honestly, I didn't think he was doing anything else because of his behavior. It was noticable that he was doing something but he wasn't out of control and seemed "normal" at times. Anyway, his caseworker is coming today to have us fill out paperwork for the 90 day county facility - in case Todd starts in again. It isn't written in stone that he will be going. It just takes a long time to be able to get in - so this is a "just in case" filing. T doesn't know about this, yet. He's home sick...again. Bad, bad cold........ Update: He came downstairs - I made him soup and tried to convince him to go to school. He was watching TV and spent some time on the computer and I was getting annoyed. I unplugged both and told him he had to go to school. He said he would if I buy him a pack of cigarettes. I told him I wouldn't for two reasons - one: His dad and I agreed to not buy him any if he doesn't come home after school or dinner and doesn't let us know where he is. That's what he did again yesterday. So he got mad and threw things around (put a hole in my middle son's favorite painting he did by throwing the remote) and then stormed off. I asked him if he was on his way to school and he said yes. I called the school and he never showed up. I then get a call from the Asst. Principal telling me that on the weekend a car drove by his house and someone yelled out an obscenity to him as his small children played on their front yard. He told me it was my son. T denied it to me and is counselor and case worker. He was very convincing. I don't know what to believe. Could the Asst. Principal be mistaken? T wasn't feeling well this weekend and laid low. Could T be lying? I am so embarrassed either way.....this fellow has been more than patient and so kind and caring to him. If it's true and it was T - the Asst. principal recognizes that it's the illnesss that is talking. He's known T before this. I told him that he's in good company because he hasn't been treating me very well, either. As long as T gets his way...things run very smoothly. On the other hand.... Oh.......now I know why #2 son asked me if T was still using. I saw on-line that my second one was trying to get a pot connection. That makes my blood boil. Here I thought he was showing some concern for his bro and here he wants to buy some pot. Funny -- he writes to his brother "delete this". Sorry it doesn't happen on the program I have....
