uneventful
Things have settled down and running smoothly here at home. T has been calling us, periodically, to let us know where he is. In school we are told that he's engaged in class. We haven't seen any homework but he knows what he needs to do. If he doesn't , he knows what the consequences are. We are going to start contacting the teachers every week to see where he's at. Truthfully, even if we do.....there is no guarantee that that would make any difference. Trying to be optimistic, however, that is all that we have. I don't want any battles over this. Gentle reminders is all that we can do. He was given a second chance and will be able to graduate - just hope he is able to do the job. My dad, who lives a few states away, is recovering from surgery to clean up a clogged artery. Surgery went well, however, His blood pressure is too low and will still need to stay in intensive care until it goes back up. From what I hear, he is upset because he's been seeing people come and go out of ICU and it's been difficult having to stay there. Played a soccer game last night. We lost but we didn't do as badly as we had thought. Unfortunately, two of our best players left our team and we had to play against them! I really like those guys, too. We lost a few other very good players, too, due to a few hot heads on our team. One of them is always mouthing off (he's not young either) at not only the opposing team players, but our own. I boldly him that he needs to stop it, while we were on the field. Either I didn't say it loud enough, or he didn't hear me - but the game was almost over and so I didn't repeat myself. I was afraid I'd say too much. I don't consider this my "regular" team so I'm thinking.......I like most of the players on the team and I get a good work out and enjoy it.....and that is what it's all about. I went and spoke to the health classes yesterday about the suicide prevention and education program they will be receiving and about the Walk. I set up a contest between two classes - the class who registers the most students, gets a pizza party. I am trying. I hope it works. Last year the funds poured in. This year, with the price of gas, it's so much more difficult. It's frustrating. Who knows - maybe they'll pour in later. I am hoping we will get a better response at our tent, this Friday, at the football game. We're taking donations and doing registration. Oh...........Thursday night I went to the board meeting for this suicide prevention group and I was made one of the distribution people. No directions......just do it. I have some ideas but it's going to be a lot of running around......gas. Hope I can pull it off.
