So this is kind of a strange thing because I should be happy, but I'm not. So, whenever I come out to people and I don't know what their reaction will be, I get really freaked out. One of my good friends said that I should stop being nervous because they won't care, but I'm still really nervous. She thinks I'm crazy for being nervous. On the one hand, I'm glad that she feels that I have nothing to worry about which means society is getting more tolerant, but at the same time, I feel anxious and depressed because I feel like my nervousness is really stupid. It really is a double sided sword.

its not stupid at all to be nervous about coming out. perfectly normal actually and i know i hate to be called that but in this case it is true.
i think all you can do in this situation is a meditative exercise to calm down. the one that helps me out when i need to calm down is to breathe in while slowly counting to four, hold for four, breath out for four. repeat about four or five times.
