um, happy

2 good breathing days in a row! Gotta like it.
My baby got her blood tested. She is alpha1 antitrypsin deficient. Her genotype is SP. That's not good. MM is best, SS is not good, PP is very bad. She is 29 years old. I know it's freaking her out. I have been PP all my life and I actually lived a very active life until just recently. I taught aerobics for years, lifted weights, hiked the mountains, took care of 4 little ones. JoJo is in great shape. She's an RN. I think she'll be mostly okay if she keeps taking care of herself. Of course it could catch up to her sometime. It caught up to me and to my little brother. It definitely sucks. I totally understand her wanting to find out everything about it. I am sad this is part of our genetics, but I think it's better to know. Informed choices.
I am doing well overall and life is pretty darn good. Puppy is laying in here with me and we are just taking it easy. She has a calm breathing pattern and it calms me also.
I am happy.

I\'m glad you\'re having a good breathing day. Maybe they\'ll come up with something better for you guys condition. She\'s still very young :>))

Dee, I am sorry about the outcome of the test, and as Kaput said, because she is young advances in medicine may have a large positive impact on her. But she has you as a guide, as a model, and that will help her considerable. I would celebrate two good breathing days, and to have them in a row is a wonderful thing. -- Take care, Bill

Dee,
You have a great attitude. I\'m sorry about your baby but at least she found out early and is young. Happy for good breathing days and hope they continue!
