Ultrasound results
My midwife hurried the ultrasound referral along and we went in at 3.30 to get checked out, I have stayed bleeding all day some times worse than others which made it a very nerve wracking day.
The scan showed that the baby appears fine, hb strong, moving around and measuring up to date, even a little ahead. She said she can see the area of bleeding on the ultrasound but couldn't comment on the outcome of that or the impact. My midwife called to find out the results and rang me to explain that there is quite a big bleed but that the baby is hanging in there for now but she really didn't sound very positive. She said she was on the way to the hospital to retrieve the official report which had been faxed to the registrar at the hospital and would call me when she had seen it.
She called only half an hour or so later and said that the bleed is near the cervix but well away from the placenta and so they baby should be ok, I can expect to bleed for a while yet and may have a few bigger bleeds too which I should let her know so we can record it. She says I may get an Ob/physician appointment in the next few days and they will wait til 20 weeks for the anatomy scan unless I couldn't wait and we could bring it forward a week.
She said baby shouldn't know anything about it and I shouldn't be in any pain and to let her know if I am? Which of course means I am half convinced every twinge is cramping!! I am plainly terrified but the bleeding is not too much really now. I have had one pad on most of the day and it just has spots on it and i've been up and about or at least sitting up for the last few hours and still no major bleeding.
Thanks for your support ladies, I hope we pull through this !!

I am so glad that the bleeding is letting up.. and that its nothing to do with the placenta or baby... hang in there hun sending you tons of prayers
How scary Hun. I\'m glad the bleed isn near placenta. I know several ladies here that have had bleeds turn out ok though. Praying for u.
I\'m glad it\'s a SCH and it\'s away from the placenta. Did they put you on bed rest ? That would be standard here for at least the first week.
I hope it stops, I\'m sure you must be terrified.
sending you good vibes.
(Commented on your other journal before realizing you had an update). I\'m so happy to hear everything is going well and the baby is moving around! Sounds like the bleeding won\'t be an issue (except to scare the pants off you). So I hope it stops soon! Thinking of you!
I\'m so relieved that things are encouraging and that baby\'s heart is beating away. I\'ve been thinking of you since your post yesterday. I\'m glad the bleeding is lessening. I can imagine how tortuously nerve-wracking this is. Thinking of you lots.
I\'m do sorry you\'re having to go through this chick! I\'m glad baby is ok :) good heart beat and movement are great signs all will be well. They told me the same thing about my bleed a while back that as long as it is not behind the placenta the baby should be ok. But they will monitor it just the same. Hope this helps :)
Wow - I\'m so sorry you are going through this - how scary!! I hope your midwife is right about it not being threatening to your baby and pregnancy. Thinking about you and our little one....rest up!!
Glad to hear the baby is ok, so scary! Hopefully the bleed passes quickly!
I\'m so sorry you\'re going through this, but so happy baby is alright. Take care of yourself hun. I\'m thinking of you!
I\'m praying that your bleeding stops and thank Got it\'s not affecting the baby, hope it goes away fast.
Great news! Let\'s hope bleeding stops and all is well:-)
Thanks ladies, pretty terrifying stuff, still feel worried something else is going to happen, I am off work but midwife says to move around and not stay in bed just don\'t do anything strenuous!
So sorry to hear you are going through this but glad that the baby is doing well and that the bleed is separate from the placenta. You are in my thoughts and prayers
So very scary! I am sorry I missed these journals! After my big bleeds (one time was so bad I filled a pad every 45 minutes) with Isaac I know how terrifying they can be! I am sorry you have to go though it too! I am glad everything is looking good with baby. I also had mild cramping with my bleeds it always worried me. But remember unless the pain gets worse you are not in labor. So, your midwife didn\'t say what caused the bleeding in your cervix? Sending you my thoughts and prayers friend!
