U/s results
Well, I got my ultrasound results this morning. "Multiple follicles, which is indicative of polycystic ovarian syndrome" is what my Doc said. I now have a full set of PCOS symptoms, joy of joys. No plans for treatment of it though, since my GP doesn't like treating disorders that he can send the patient to a specialist for. My RE, however, I'm not even going to approach at this point since he's an arsehead who only sees my weight and doesn't seem to care about anything else.
My GP and I discussed the situation with my RE and my GP offered to refer me to a new RE out of town since this RE is the only one in the area. I told him not right now, since I don't have the money for travel, or time due to school.
So instead, we're making plans for me getting assistance in my weight loss. A new bariatric clinic has opened up recently and they will allow me to see a dietician under my OHIP coverage instead of having to pay out of pocket. They're really a prep clinic for surgical patients, but I'm not going the bariatric surgery route, and my GP said they prefer to assist patients in weight loss without surgery, basically saving it as the last ditch effort to lose weight.
In another note: I strained the muscle in front of my knee on Thursday. I went to the Urgent Care Clinic after school and was assured that it's just a strain of the muscle and I don't have to worry about doing anything but resting it, icing it, and taking ibuprofen for the inflammation. My GP manipulated my knee today just to make sure all was well, and he said that while I did injure it, I've not done much damage.
Now off to write the three short reports I have to have the rough drafts for tomorrow.

I hate to say I\'m happy about your ultrasound results, but I\'m so glad that there\'s finally a diagnosis.
I\'ve heard that weight loss can help with PCOS symptoms so hopefully losing weight will help you out tremendously. And seeing a new RE is definitely going to be a good thing for you - your current one is a complete assbag. I really can\'t believe it took this long for them to finally call PCOS!
I\'m excited to hear about your weight loss journey. I know you can do it, and I know you\'ll find the strength within yourself. XOXOXO!!!!
I\'m glad you finally got some answers but I\'m sorry that its PCOS :( Best of luck with the weight loss!!!
Thanks ladies! Surprisingly, I\'m not upset at all about today\'s results. They\'ve been hedging on PCOS as my problem for a few years now, but since I didn\'t have cysts, they didn\'t want to call it. Well, now I\'ve got the full hand of symptoms. I\'ve been pretty sure for the last two years that I have PCOS, I was just waiting for them to get with the program. I really want to start seeing a new RE, but it\'ll have to wait a bit. Hopefully I will be able to see one soon though!
I agree with KDeezy- I\'m glad there is finally a diagnosis. Sounds like you\'re taking the right steps to get healthier and eventually see a RE who gives a shit. Good luck friend :)
I am glad you finally know what is going on in there! I think when the time is right you should see a new RE! Sorry about the knee, be well hon! XO
