two weeks later... or has it been three?
To all my dear friends and acquaintances who have sent the little concerned notes:
THANK YOU!!!
Meanwhile...
...it was only an overnight stay for Mom, and it probably was a stress reaction. I've sort of had my own, decided to go back to my own therapist...
...who has retired since I saw him last. So starting with a new one now. As long as he's good, I guess I don't mind, but there's just so much to unpack with a new one.
Took about a month before I started feeling normal again after my earlier trip this summer, didn't even want to think about it to put it in the journal...
...and now I'm back for another two week stint to see what I can do to help out. Janie is probably going back to her apartment tomorrow (she's been with Mom for 6 weeks), unless there's some new development I don't know about.
...at the moment kinda wired and tired - it's a 10-hour drive and I had five cups of coffee en route.
...my sense is that this visit won't be as difficult as the last one, the hardest thing (admitting Dad to the nursing home) has already been done. Still some issues to work through...
More later, maybe!
THANK YOU!!!

Bri, I know this hasn\'t been easy for you. Just know I\'m here for you and I care.
So happy for the update. Glad your mom only had to stay overnight. Really good to see you are also taking steps to take care of yourself. I know it seems like a lot when you start with a new therapist. This is a good place to find support and work through the changes that are going to happen in the future with your parents. Better to start building that support network now so when you need it later it will be there. Hugging you tightly Brian. Glad you had a safe trip.
Oh I\'m so relieved to know your mom is okay, and that you\'re okay too! And I think that\'s a great idea to get busy with that therapy--the baggage notwithstanding--because even your vast emotional fortitude has limits. You\'re such a special Person, please take good care of yourself!
