two hundred fifty dollars!
Today, I was finally willing to go...all the way...with a verizon representitive, past the direct tv sales pitch, after i said right at the start i only wanted minimum phone/internet combo. Was willing to pay $69 a month, just to get this long ordeal over with, re getting phone and internet service. I hanged up on verizon prior times when it took forever to try to get to end of their sales routine.
verizon rep., out of the blue, eliminated an international calling fee i never wanted, so that it would cost me $49.99 a month, which is what i paid in the town i moved from---then it turned into an oh by the way, there's a two hundred fifty dollar security i'd have to pay, up front, not next month after service started. END OF CALL.
$250 = 50 dollars a month fine cause i've gone without verizon from my december move to new town? What it really boils down to? Be $300 security/fine if i'd ask next month...? I feel stupid for sometimes paying my verizon bill two months at a time.
And, i thought 59 dollars a month for new town, and 40 dollar transfer fee was too much, back in december, when i talked to verizon, days before i moved.
the building i'm living in has exclusive rights with one cable company, and exclusive rights with verizon, so i'm out of luck for cheap service.
Used my alpha male friend's phone to contact verizon, during a ride to a mall where he wanted to pick up chocolate on sale. He flirting with waitress at diner afterwards, with her showing him photos off her cellphone, and then he gave my building manager a box of chocolates, with him talking to her, as I went up to my apt.

Just a quick cable story for ya. When hubs and I moved into our first house it was when cable was a very young service. There was a cable hanging out of the wall and we plugged it into our tv. BINGO! It worked! We lived in that house for two years and never got a bill!
The Verizon salespeople are on commission.
My tablet is Verizon. And it is costing me a bit,
but suffices for my main computer. When i got the tablet I quit having a landline.
To do telephoning I use a cheap setup -- a kind of thing that Net10 used to be.

i had free cable for about half a year, after calling to cancel back in 2007...i made sure to keep my bill that said i cancelled, just to be safe; i still have my cancellation notice from 2007

now that i did talk to two companies, on a friend\'s phone, i\'m getting offers through mail for direct tv....maybe one day i will get an offer for cheap phone/internet.
The Wallyworld in my town sells a zillion cell phones; it has a wide variety of services and half the personnel in that department are IMO knowledgeable.
By the way, someone came to the soup kitchen where I go..signing ppl up for Free-Govt phones. I got one because my reg\'lar phone is so frequently having a dead battery. (Some app/s autostart.) Was told at the time I signed up that several stores in town also sign ppl up; in particular a large video rental store. They do the paperwork for it.
I sometimes forget my regular phone when I leave the \'house.\' The gov\'t phone is always is in my tote bag and weighs two ounces/minus. Um this latter has plenty of minutes. My regular smart phone is on a very-low-cost plan and gives me very few minutes. (A Tracfone I had allowed small number of minutes.)
If I\'m going to call someplace and expect it to take awhile, I can use my government phone. . . . :) . Hope it\'s not as hot there as the 90 deg temps I\'m having. . /c U

a couple hours ago i used somebody\'s electronic car key, to open their locked vehicle; first time for me to even do that...the internet and dvd seem to be my main 21st century technology uses... the few times i borrowed somebody\'s cellphone i had to ask how to use it.
i do have a good excuse that there\'s nobody really for me to call on a phone, with the vet, doctor, dentist in walking distance in town.
