Twins

It is: it's twins.  Two little black blobs on the ultrasound screen, with two white blobs in each, with one of the white blobs flickering in each black blob.  Their two little heartbeats.  I have two little hearts in me.  I can't believe this.  This is the happiest day of my life. I started to laugh-sob immediately when the doctor said, "twins."  I had waited until then to really believe it. And then when she showed us the heartbeats, I had to wipe the tears off the back of my neck.  As we left, James and I stood in the elevator bay.  He kept repeating, "I'm so happy; I'm so happy!" and I just giggled like a maniac with one hand around him and one hand on my mouth. Today when I took my usual nap, I didn't feel alone at all.  I felt like my two babies and I were getting in bed for a nap. This brings up all sorts of fears associated with multiples, but I won't dignify those in writing tonight. Thanks to all my friends who have been thinking about me and checking in on me.  I love you so much!  We all three do!
