Turtle
My mother got me a turtle for Easter and I named him Speedy. He is really fast. Just a baby turtle about 2 1/2 inches with his head stretched out. The owner told me he would only get to be 4-6 inches, but the pet store told me that they get 10-12 inches. I will need to start a savings plan to get him a larger tank in the future. I spent $149 to set him up this time. I should be able to use everything that he has and just upgrade the size of his tank as he grows. One of my friends just took their turtle to the pet store because it got too big. I don't know how one can return a "family member" because of their size. They sure wouldn't return a child.

I\'ve heard of people keeping turtles in cardboard boxes for a brief time, if that becomes a necessity. Good luck with your new friend!
I would love doing that because it would be harder for him to get away when I want to hold him, but he requires land and water.
How cool is that? So, it is a water-living animal as opposed to a tortoise that lives on dry land. I had a tortoise for many years and I gave him to the junior museum. He was very happy.
