Turning around a bad start
Got up to a bad start today. Woke up and right off the bat started thinking about how someone at work let me down, took an opportunity to say something to make me feel better, but instead ignored me and made me feel worse. But I think the real problem is that its November and my SAD is really strong now. It is so easy to blame external situations for the way I feel, but I'm beginning to understand that the problem is really mainly internal. (That is a difficult but extremely important thing to accept.) I spent a while looking at sad videos on youtube, which of course only made me feel worse. Then I decided I must take hold of this situation, nip it in the bud before the whole day is ruined. At breakfast, I drank two cups of coffee and took 900 mg of St John's Wort (50% more than I usually take in the morning). After that I had the urge to go lie down on my bed and sulk, but I resisted. Sometimes you just have to resist those urges and make yourself do something. So I came here and started writing this. Actually, I am already beginning to feel the coffee and St John's Wort beginning to kick in. The suns out, so I think I am now goinng to go out for a run/walk (I can't run far, so I stop walk when I get too tired). Then I'm going to get busy on all the chores I need to do. No sulking today!

I had a friend visiting today so I was doing chores from the word \'go\'. I\'d been awake for quite a bit of the night so like you, I wasn\'t feeling great either this morning and could well have felt worse if it hadn\'t been for the visit. It\'s difficult getting motivated this time of year though isn\'t it.
hope your day picks up hun x
I hope your day turns out really well for you.
Thanks for your comments. Fortunately I was able to turn things around and am feeling pretty good now. I didn\'t do the run this morning because it was too cold, but I think I will do it now.
Glad you are feeling somewhat better. A run always helps me. In fact I just got back from one. You should feel proud of yourself for trying hard to fight the negative. That is so important and impressive. {{Hug}}}
Good for you! It\'s a good thing you were able to find something to do instead of sitting around like you wanted to. And I know exactly what you mean about it being an internal thing and how you have to accept it, I recently accepted the same thing. I know how bad November is as well :( Especially since we put the clocks back an hour. Just keep thinking positive and we\'ll all get through it! Have a great night!
Unfortunately I didn\'t get through the whole day without starting to feel bad again. Its not easy this time of year. I\'m not too bad, though.
:/ I get the same way too, this time of year is really tough. Whats good is you know you can feel good for a majority of the day and that its not all bad
Thats right. I\'m having lots of ups and downs, but at least I\'m having some ups!
