Turmeric Tea
I bought some curcumin root or whatever and made some tea. i was skeptical but it was actually good. here's how i did it.
wash and peel about a half in to an inch of curcumin root and then grate it and put in it a large cup
add the juice of about a quarter of a lemon and a dash of black pepper. the black pepper supposedly brings out the healthy benefits of the curcumin. it will also sink to the bottom of the cup so you can kind of leave most of it there when you pour if you want.
pour about 1 cup or a little more of almost boiling (hot) water over all of that and let it set for about 5 minutes. i stirred it, too. then poor it through a seive into another cup.
you can add honey too i think but i didn't
i thought it would taste awful but it was really pretty good. it has this quality of heat, not just from the water temp but the combination of ingredients. it sort of warmed my throat like alcohol might when it was going down. felt nice. supposed to be healthy too.
let me know if you like it! : )
