Turkey day

So my pain is better today. I have yet to have any of the sharp pain that will drop me to the floor. My back hurts sharper then usual, but as long as I wear my brace and do not push it, I should be ok. I really thought about going to the ER yesterday. I just could not figure out what good it would do me. X-rays would just show the crushed area that has bits of bone embedded in the muscles for up to an inch away. There is only about 30% of that vertebrae left and no ER doctor would be able to see if there was any difference between what it was a year ago and what it was yesterday. A CT Scan or MRI might show new damage, but might not. They would have to do a done density scan... and I am not doing another one of those!! I am also not sure WHAT they would do even if they found new damage... I was not willing to be admitted into that hospital again. I have a torso brace and I already take morphine.
I am just better off weathering this like I do all set backs, one hour at a time.
When I could not sleep last night, I took a dose of Benedryl which worked perfectly.
Today will either be stress free or a disaster. I am hoping for the first. Eating dinner with a bunch of my daughter's friends. I don't have to cook or even help with dinner. My part is done, we picked up yeast rolls and honey butter yesterday. DONE! TIME!
No idea if the chairs will support my back or not. No idea if I will be spending a good part of the afternoon laying flat on the floor, or curled into a ball in the corner screaming. No idea. The good news is that the level of my pain will diminish my panic disorder. I will be less likely to overstimulate even in a white apt filled with rowdy 20 somethings.
I am just going to take the day one hour at a time...
