tuesday... things happening

so if you haven't heard, it's been raining here. rainy season is officially here, i guess. it did some pretty bad damage compared to the usual. flooding was seen across the island, mud slides occured in a lot of areas, and the beaches are all closed do to too much mud run off, branches, debries n things (making it unsafe to swim in). even the crazy local surfers won't go in cuz they know with all the muddy water there are plenty sharks feeding on fish and things.  2 mins up the road is the Kole Kole ("ko-lee ko-lee") Pass up between the mountains to the army base, and it's completely destroyed by the storm that came thru. it will take about 2 months before they can make it safe enough again to open.  good thing this house is on higher grounds. they showed on the local news the beach that's right up the road, Makaha Surf Beach, it looks nothing like it before. it's destroyed with 20ft gouges and debrie littering shore line. i will drive out there today and get a look my self, i will also go visit my favorite beach, Yokohama Bay, and see how the damage has tore it up. this saddens my heart cuz the beaches are the most beautiful of God's creations that i adore. all this rain and dampness has flared up the arthritic pain in my lower back. so i have been careful when i get up and move around. been putting heating pads on it to help reduce the pain. yesterday, i went to the American Legion to ask for Doc Nikkin's (the native American Medicine man) number and email since i lost it in the move... and guess who was sitting right there as i walked in? Doc Nikkins! wow... i was so happy to see him, he always has such a huge grin on his face. so i told him why i was there and he was happy that we bumped into each other cuz he lost my info too. lol. funny how life is. he gave me some suggestions about the fibro and to stay away from cow dairy products. he told me there's a sea weed that would be good for me, but he has to get back to me on the name of it. we sat and talked, ate lunch, talked some more, and he told me all kinds of things about his research he is doing on many diferent medical problems like diabetes, fms, smoke inhalation victims, etc. he told me that my memory problems are from the toxic smoke inhalation i was exposed to at the Pentagon during 911. he said that it damages areas of the brain. So Jim (the guy helping me fight the claim with the VA) said he will take the research and use it to "punch" the VA with. he also gave me some advice on my mom's bipolar and things to ask her phychiatrist during the next visit. this NA medicine man is so knowledgeable, it's crazy! did i tell you he's an MD, too, and a Christian prayer healer as well? Wow all 3 in one person! talk about talent!! well not much else goin on... Matt's almost all the way checked out of base. he told me that he would take his chances here on island with me than go back to his small town Texas. Doc Nikkins and Jim asked about him, i told them i would rather be dirt poor if it meant Matt was by my side (in reply to their question about why he didn't re-enlist for a big bonus). Doc said a heart like mine is hard to find, and Matt's a lucky man. lol. one more update... I am for sure taking the ex land lord to court. i tried to be nice and lenient, but she just wants to play hoping i'd take the check she sent for only a portion of she owes, and be happy with that. but i'm not! since she wants to play, we can play it in court. i've been getting all the evidence and documents together. today i'm going to get the court document notarized and then file it. the guy helping me with all this already has a sherif lined out to serve her and he told me which judges he hopes i get, cuz some of them hate land lords like her! lol!  that's it for now... wish me luck with everything, and i hope everyone's ready for this Christmas! Tis the season to be loving, right? he he he

wow girl, you have lots going on. Doc Nikkins sounds really interesting - it would have been an interesting day you had with him.
Sad to hear about your lovely island, does it happen that bad often? I hope it all clears up quickly.
