Tuesday,it's been a long time since I was last here
Good morning journal, the time is now 7:39am and I have been awake since 6:00am when two of our canine children,Buttons and Caesar, woke me to tell me they needed to go outside. After they had done what they needed to do,they came back inside and jumped on the sofa where they are now fast asleep, content with the fact that they could see me and know that I'm okay. December has been a hard month for me both physically and mentally, having finished my pulmonary rehab classes on the twelfth,I then had a few appointments to keep with my medical team. I still do not know the results of the brain scan I had done in November, the outcome of it has since seemingly not been forwarded to my doctor, when I asked him about it,he said that because it was my psychiatrist, doctor Prince, who had ordered it,it is probably with his office,he gave me a number for his office but so far I have not had the chance to call yet as I have been so busy. Physically I am exhausted and I spend a lot of my time sleeping, but I have gotten a lot done, both in the lead up to Christmas and beyond it into the New Year. After a call to the healthcare department dealing with my disability application, and, after explaining that I had been waiting for a face to face assessment since July, they gave me an appointment on January 2nd,the only problem was that I am now confined to a wheelchair when I go outside our home and the appointment was in Preston, which is miles away. Fortunately,my oldest daughter came through and took us there in her car, which helped out enormously. I thought the appointment went well, and the lady who did it said I should hear something in around four weeks,if I don't,then she told me to ring them,so that's promising at any rate. Then yesterday,I had an appointment with my consultant at the hospital,he said he needed more blood from me,my first thought was,"what, more blood???",when I asked him why,he said that several readings from my last set of tests were raised, whatever that means,so I asked him what he was checking for but all I got in reply was,"it's nothing to worry about, but I'd like blood work done now, today". I then asked him for the second time what he was looking for,he said,"it's nothing to worry about for the moment",so I told him that the bit about,"for the moment",worried me somewhat,he said,"I have to tell you that,it's because several readings in your last test are raised slightly",he wouldn't be drawn on anything more conclusive,so I guess I'll just have to wait until I hear from him when the results get back to him, and,as my next appointment to see him isn't for two months, that could be a long wait.I'm not happy about it,and my wife is furious, but,as he refused to tell me any more,we will just have to wait. Before I finish,I would like to apologize to my friends on this site,I have not been strong enough physically to come here, but I thank them for their love and concern, and I will try to keep you updated as much as I can,I have also been unwell mentally,my mind has been all over the place, and my voices have played a major part in my confusion and ability to think clearly, something that has not gone unnoticed by my wife, who doesn't say much about my illnesses, but she notices everything, she is one smart woman, and I'm hugely lucky to have her. Well journal, that seems to be all that I am capable of for now,so until the next time,I'm alive but weakened physically, whilst mentally,I seem to be losing the ability to communicate clearly what I want to say,and that was always my greatest fear. If you have it in your heart my friends, please pray for me,and thank you for being the friends you are to me,I love you all.

Prayers going up for you my friend, love to you.
prayers, of course.
I would like to bring up the point that results from blood work IS IMPORTANT for you. They are your results. It is your blood. It is your health. The doc or whoever gets the results should be obligated to let you know any concern you might have. I will let you know that my clinic and health system now has a website. I can view any and all test results at any time. I can also compare them to past results.
My question is how are you suppose to make adjustments if you don\'t understand what needs to be adjusted.
I understand why your wife is upset. This is YOUR health. You should be involved.
Sorry I went off on you health care people. You need an advocate. Anyone who can and will stand up for you. Your wife would be a good place to start.
I will pray. And continue to watch for updates.
So happy to see your post, but not so happy about your health. Hugs.
