Trying to move on

I was hoping that I would wake up this morning feeling better...but I don't. I just have so much anger and frustration swirling around in me. I keep thinking of things I can do to help me but then when I try and research options in this area I come to a huge blank. For instance, I know that there is a swim squad that trains on Tuesdays and Saturdays at my local pool, but do you think I can find anything about them on the internet??? Absolutely not. Also, I have been trying to look up local triathlon squads in town (I am still relatively new to this area) but once again, I draw a huge blank. It is like there is a cone of silence around these groups and no information is given to outsiders. I also wanted to investigate a summer open water swimming series, but alas there is nothing like that around here. If I wanted to do an open water swim, I would have to drive 2 hours after work ( yes they are only on Thursdays! only to get there and just miss the start of it!) and then turn around and drive home again.
Ugh, just so frustrated. I really wanted an event or something that I could train towards for the rest of the year in order to take my mind off things and maybe make some new friends (ie ones that don't all have children) but there is seriously NOTHING in this town/region. I know I sound like a spoilt brat but come on, I am trying to be proactive at every turn and coming up against brick walls. It is so demoralising.
as for the whole fertility thing. My husband and I have decided to give up trying. We will start IVF in the new year and maybe closer to the time I will do some research but for the next three months, we have to focus on his exams (which are also causing no end of stress!) and me getting fitter/finding a project to train for.
To do this, we have outlined the following steps:
1. The husband is to contact our fertility nurse and explain we are taking a break.
2. We are going to seek a second opinion (my husband has met another fertility specialist through his work who he thinks is very specialised in his field) so he will contact him for a consult and re evaluation.
3. We are going to start eating, drinking and enjoying life again. We have been so focused on trying to get pregnant and living the cleanest life possible that we have stopped having fun. We used to have what we called red wine nights...where we would (on very special occasions) open a bottle of red wine and youtube music videos dancing around the house all night.
4. I will still do my gratefuls and daily journaling, but I think I will stay away from this website until we start IVF. This is a big call as I have heavily relied on this amazing resource for the last few months but I just think if I am still turning to this website every day, then the focus will still be on my infertility instead of enjoying life. I will really miss those on here who regularly read my entries and supply comments etc...perhaps I might start a blog (I actually don't know how to but will try!) so that I have a commitment to stick to.
5. I am going to commit to two yoga sessions a week and maybe even a relaxation mediatation session as well.
If anyone has any online resources for any of my ideas ie blogs, yoga etc, please let me know.  In case I am not back here for a while, I would just like to say thanks to all for your wonderful support and kind words. I really wish the best of luck to you all.

I completely understand. I had to take a break from this site for a while because reading some women\'s stories actually caused me more stress and anxiety. For now, I think it\'s great that you\'re taking time to focus on yourself and your husband. Enjoy each other\'s company and go easy on yourself. When you\'re ready to come back to IF you\'ll know, and we\'ll still be here. :) Good luck with your training!

I would strongly encourage you to look up the book So Close by Tertia Albertyn. At a period when I felt at my lowest, I came across an entry on her blog (link here http://tertia.typepad.com/so_close/2004/10/surviving_infer.html) Reading this completely changed my mindset. I have gone back and read it many, many times when I felt like giving up on life.
I have recommended it to many people. I don\'t know how many have found as much hope there as I did. But I can tell you...it saved my life.

Good luck with your break! I\'m sure you will find that your mind will clear and you will feel happy again. I had a forced break (Had a LAP) and it was the best two months! I also took a little break from DS to help get my mind back to thinking of other things.

I hope you have a nice break, and we are here whenever you need us!
