Trying to get back on track

Another day at the Y.  46 mins on the treadmill.  2.86 miles.  25 mins of lower body weights, 5 min stretch.  Food yesterday was good.  I did eat some chocolate ice cream from the Penn State creamery.  OMG it was So good!  Ate it nice and slow and it really satisfied that craving and I was still at 1643 calories for the day.  I didn't feel as bad since the rest of the day I was so good.  (Coffee and half and half, fresh strawberries, gound turkey burger and bun, 3 raw carrots, water, unsweetened iced tea, sirloin steak, baked potato, fresh green beans and a little butter on my potato.)  Today was all about the starches.  OK with calories but all bad stuff.  Ate a Fiberone bar for breakfast and some coffee.  Had to go to my office for a meeting.  Should have packed something to eat.  Got the shakes really bad.  Just pushed it too long and ended up with a McDonalds hamburger and medium fries and medium diet coke.  Then dinner was just as bad:  tator tots, chicken patty, bun, corn.  What a crappy food day!  I am worried about tomorrow since I will be in court all day.  Will eat a Fiberone bar for breakfast.  Maybe bring an apple and some raisins in my briefcase and some nuts.  Can't let myself get the way I got today.  1632 calories today.  I really would like to get the calories a little lower, like under 1400 and focus on less starchy stuff, more fruits &/or veggies.
Re:  David.  He just got over it.  By the next day, for him, it was like it never happened.  Took me longer to get over it.  I have a dented up folding chair to look at.  And I had all kinds of horrible things going through my head.  but thank God for Kona.  Those doggie kisses really help and she just makes me laugh.  It is hard to stay mad with her around.  She likes to hide her cookies.  Sometimes in my laundry basket with folded clean laundry!  Lately, there are bins of toys around that we are sorting through for Goodwill, trash, etc.  She has been "burying" her bones in the toy bins.  And I hear "rattle, rattle, rattle" and she is digging with her nose to get the cookies out.  Sometimes I have to help her when the cookie sinks to the bottom of the bin (like a pen in your purse, you know?)  So I am calmer and life is back to "normal" and I know that things will be fine  for a while until the next big blow up.
David has a detention in school tomorrow.  He was sent to the time out room since he told another kid to "shut the hell up" during class.  Ugh!  And he is failing band as he doesn't want to play the trombone anymore.  So he just sits there and does nothing during class and refuses to play.  He is such a hard head.  I hope that that stubborness transferes to resistance of peer pressure.

So sorry to hear you are having troubles with David again. It is so difficult being a parent, isn\'t it? Hard to know what to do sometimes! I hope you find a way to resolve the issues and bring peace back into your home. Sometimes, with kids, it takes years. Hopefully one day they snap out of it and learn to control their own inner issues and be productive adults. Just be the great Mom you are and try your best to help your family get through this! Glad Kona is around to help ease the trouble with doggy kisses!

Glad to hear things are calm for the present. You metion of the dented chair for some reason reminded my of my son in his teen years. He had a fit of angry at his day and punched the mail box of the post. Well when he got home he found the mailbox on his bed with a note from his Dad stating that he had 3 days to purchased a new box and install it. It took him all of the 3 days but he replaced it and did a great job too. I think those 3 days gave him some time to think about a lot of things.
God bless doggie kisses!
