Trying to Function

I sit here, day after day, waiting for another call from the school. Another reason to have to go rescue my girl from them. The more I hear from them, the more worried I become. I had a conversation with an acquaintance from across town, who has a son that is about 10 years old. When I was working with her, she mentioned that she had taken her son out of school and was home schooling him. That was about a year ago. I told her what was going on with the school and the principal, and she told me a shockingly similar story about her son's experience with the same school. He had the same teacher, who also humiliated him last year in front of the entire class; the same counselor, who also tried to get the child enrolled in the intensive, inhome program (and was equally unpleasant to the mother); and the same principal, who targeted the child with unreasonable purpose and irrational surity.  Is it a coincedence that both of these children are of a different religion? Is being different so difficult for these people to accept? You have to wonder, when we are living in a primarily Baptist community, both non-Baptists, with children that find it difficult to fit in? That counselor is a blight on the community. The principal keeps "her children" safe by targeting specific children who might be having a hard time, and gives them a harder time. I believe that if the counselor had not mis-diagnosed my girl with reactive attachment disorder and given the school instructions to break her spirit, it might have gone differently. But hearing from my acquaintance that a very similar thing happened to her son makes me wonder whether it would have made a difference. So, I sit here day after day waiting for a phone call. I find it difficult to function, difficult to get things done, because I'm afraid to leave the phone long enough.
