Trying to find Balance.
Here I am at the six month mark. In regular time six months seems like nothing but in the Divorce world it seems like an eternity. Six months ago today my world crashed down right in front of me when my husband came home from work and said " I have to leave to go find myself" The next day while I was at work and the kids were at school he packed up all his clothes and bathroom supplies and just left. Initially I thought we would never be apart 6 months he will be gone for a few weeks get a taste of life without me doing everything for him and of course he would miss his kids right? Especially his little boy and he loved our sofiegirl our beautiful black and whit cocker spanial. I never thought it would get to the stage of attorney's and child support, spousal support, even when my attorney obtained his business bank records and came up with the figure of 2,000 a month I said " He will never pay that" I guess it's hard for me to put a dollar amount on what I think i'm worth after 22 years. I just want to be able to take my of myself and the kids with a little room to breathe each month. I'm not trying to become rich and be able to quit my job I just want what is fair.
So where do I find that balance that sense of peace and contentment. After six months and he has made no effort to admit he made a mistake or has any remorse for what he has done I have accepted that this is my life now he never wants to come back to me or his family. I guess I have still been struggling with why he thinks there is something out there more loving or wonderful than the love his family had for him. I have my awesome kids, I love my work, I have my routine now and it's real quite most of the time. I never realized before how much of my time was wrapped up in everything he needed. I never had time for a pedicure before I never had time to just sit and watch a movie from start to finish. I can't even remember the last time I sat down with a hot meal. I was always so busy cooking for everyone else and serving everyone else I never got a chance to sit down.
I keep trying to find new stuff to get involved in to keep me busy especially on Austins weekends with his dad but I don't feel like doing anything. I work out now 30 minutes in the morning and another in the evening. I read some things, I like to journal also in my book. Mostly I just sit in the quite and pray or talk to myself about what is coming up next. I try not to dwell to much on the why why why did he do this to me crap because I know that I will never get the answer and it just makes me cry. When the calm finally come along with peace and happiness. I feel like i'm surviving ok i'm going through all the motions doing what is expected as a mother, a teacher, a friend and co-worker. But I do miss being a wife so much. I hate being lonely and feel like i'm never going to have another someone to love ever again. I'm good at being a wife someone once told me I didn't chose it God cast me in the role. I am just waiting for the day when all the peices fall into place and I don't have all these emotions going up and down back and forth and sideways. It still seems like rough sees and storms and I am just waiting for the calm......

T, honey, I\'m going to say this to you AGAIN: Chances are, your stbx will NEVER admit his mistake or his selfishness. Period. If he feels any remorse, he will NEVER let you see it. And he might not feel any -- not yet, anyway -- but believe me, one day he will. Hopefully, by then, you will be so far removed from all the hurt, it won\'t effect you one way or the other. In August of this year, it will be SIX YEARS since my Day of Devastation. While tales of my X\'s woes have come to me through various channels, I know in my mind and heart that he will NEVER acknowledge what he put me through. NEVER. EVER. And you know what? It doesn\'t matter anymore.
You write that you ARE feeling a sense of inner peace at times. You have realized how much energy you spent taking care of your stbx as if he were another child. You must admit to yourself that THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER! Being a wife shouldn\'t be about sacrificing your own wants and needs -- or even the simple pleasures of having a mani-pedi once in awhile or being able to watch what you want to watch on tv without the channel-flipping and \"honey, would you get me some ____________?\" Being a wife SHOULD BE about being AN EQUAL PARTNER in the relationship --- with lots of give and take, mutual respect and honoring each other as individuals.
You have come a long way since you first came on here and I am proud of you. Don\'t fret about this\"never going to have another someone to love ever again\" right now. Actually, it seems to me like YOU did all the loving in your marriage -- your stbx clearly took advantage of your good nature and took the relationship for granted. You DESERVE SO MUCH MORE!
Continue to read, journal and post here. We\'re all here to support you through this and to help in any way we can. Pray. Trust that your God has something much better in mind for you, but it won\'t happen until you are truly free of this mess of a marriage. Be gentle with yourself. Learn to LOVE YOURSELF all by yourself.
During my Journey, I learned that until I did just that, it was crazy for me to even entertain the notion of someone else being able to love me like I deserved.
Holding you in my thoughts and prayers.
CKathi said it so beautifully that I can add nothing except to say I hear you. Yes, you have come a long way. (((HUGS)))
Thanks Girls you all ROCK!!!!!!! You both always have such words of wisdom that I read tour comments over and over again to make sure that I don\'t miss anything. It\'s a marathon not a sprint I know I am just anxious for this new life to start for me but it\'s going to take some time.
Disney, as I read your post I think you are at the 6 month mark, I remember how crazy I was feeling at the 6 month mark which was Dec & Jan for me. Then I moved into an apt in Feb. You brought back all of the feelings, the tears and emotions I felt and you know what, I don\'t have those same feelings, emotions and tears, I will be at 1 year in July. Wow! like you said this past year seems like an eternity but guess what I have made it, can\'t say I\'m happy with the way life is right now but at least I am coping and working on me and not thinking about HIM as much. I am finding that I am having little moments of Peace and Contentment and not hurting quite as much. With this said, I just wanted to encourage you and give you a big hug. Good for you for working out, I haven\'t been able to make myself do that yet but I can sure mop some floors and clean toilets. lol. Kim
