trying to find a partner

Here I am having another lonely night trying to get a date for the weekend. I feel very tired but I have finally gotten the attention of a woman who wants to go on a date with me. She is out tonight so she told me to call her later. I will ask her out. But I am worried because I am very tired and I dont know how I will feel tomorrow.. On line dating is frustrating for men. We hardly get any messages of interest from women. I have gotten a few women interested in me but the interest does not last very long. The women I meet are very different from me. I am a lot more educated than them and I get bored with our conversations. I like to read, write and think. I have a critical and creative mind. I am a university professor. Ivy league educated. I dont need to date an intellectual. But the women I meet are so shallow. this whole experience makes me feel lonely. I really want to have a partner. Someone to love. That would be sooo nice. But this is getting out of hand. I think about dating too much because I feel lonely.
I am trying to get my mind involved in other things. Things that nourish my intellect.  I keep posting interesting quoted on facebook hoping to attract people who think like me. If I could only find a kindred spirit. Instead of the shallow women I meet. On line dating has made me realize how shallow the lives of most people are.

I know how it is to want so badly to find a partner. I didn\'t marry till I was 48 years old! It was a long wait and I didn\'t think it would happen! But it did! And I didn\'t really have to search for it. What\'s meant to be, will be. I met my husband at the doctor\'s office where I work. He was a patient!!

You will find someone. Try not to be obsessed with it. OK?

Your story is inspiring. You married at 48. I am 51 but I look much younger. Maybe there is still hope for me. And as you said. it can happen anywhere anytime. I need to relax about this. Thanks.
