Trying Out

I made the decision to start my anti-depression meds again even though the side effects are terrible.  I'm at the point where I will do anything to try and feel better.  I don't want to use drinking as a coping method anymore and I can't function when I am so depressed.

Ill give it a month.  By then, I will have seen my counselor and maybe I will feel better.  Ive been taking meds for a week now and there are days where I just want to sleep.  They make me tired and unmotivated but hoping this will wear off over time.  It might be good to take a rest.

It does make me move a little slower at work but I don't get so irriated at work either.  It's easier for me to tone everyting else and just be numb.  I will say this is one of the con's of this drug- it just makes me more even keel.  Not happy, not sad and not mad.

Jus taking things day to day.

WHERE'S MY PERFECT LIFE? ? ?

I sure hated it when my depression era elders kept telling me to pick my poison. The older I get, the smarter *they* get.

Fucking assholes. . .

With my hyper-active metabolism, trading speed for still feels like a fair trade at times, even with the mellowing effect of age. At 65, I finally have the energy of a Normal Teenager. That is still more than enough energy to have obnoxious side effects of its own. Picking my poison again while I indulge another wish for that hyper-perfect world hyper-perfect teen me just knew was *out there*.

I still hate admitting my elders might have had more smarts than I gave them credit for. . . Sigh. . . I suspect they were right about just taking things day to day, too. Another sigh. . . Now Doris Day is crooning, "Que sera sera" in my head. Can you take me out back and shoot me now?

I think I have been on almost all of them at some point and the only ones I had side affects from was effexor... Prozac made me gain weight.
There was another one that affected my sex life called Paxil but it never really help with my depression. The last one I was on was one of the newest ones at the time I started taking it and was recommended by a friend so I told my Dr I wanted to try it and it worked extremely well and made me feel quite normal. It's called Pristiq.

If you are having side affects, talk to your dr. Prescribing antidepressent medication is not an exact science, you have to try different ones to see what works. My own dr told me that.

God Bless
