Trying not to lose faith

So I just passed my four year mark with this.  My first appointment was back in July 2006.  Its been going down hill since.  I am on mtx folic acid and hydrocloriquine Morphine and Perocet. Been on plaqinull, Humeria, Embrel, Predisone. Predisone worked but I gain way to much weight with it and I had to quit.  In the mean time I have lost my friends I have lost my job well sorta.  I quit working back in March.  Wal-Mart wrote me up for walking too slow and told me if I couldn't get up front in a decent amount of time I needed to look for another job.  When I got a laywer they said that I got wrote up for my attitude because my supervisor told me that me taking ten minutes to get up front was ruining the score card and I told him I am sorry my pain level is ruining your score card I will try to be faster.  Someone that ended up being disrespect for the individual.  They said that they didn't disrespect me that they were doing their job.  The sad thing is I was with that company for 6 years they saw I was going down hill.  I am still Employed there but I am on a medical leave of absence I am not going back though I got approved for SSD and medcaid I am just using the discount card until my year is up.  I have lost alot of my friend because they don't understand crontic pain and fatique.  I don't expect them too understand they are in their 20's they don't need me holding them back.  Meanwhile I turn 25 this year and I feel that its over I went to a them park yesterday and my pain level was so high I couldn't really enjoy it.  I try not to go through the why me stage but I am 25 and I just want my life back I want to be able to do what I use to do.  I don't know what to really say Its 2:00am in the morning my best friends birthday and I am going to deliver her flowers to work in 5 hours she has been depressed lately so if i can cheer someone up I guess its worth it.  I guess I shall go lay down.  FOr anyone who reads this I am sorry if I depress anyone Its just some stuff thats been building up and I don't know what to do anymore.

Oh sweetie please try to hang in there. When I first started RA the first 5 years were the worst. Then I found a combination of meds that worked for me and it has been better...Have you ever tried celebrex and Arava (leflunomide)..those have worked really well for me. The morphine and percocet are just going to depress the heck out of ya...Talk to your doc and tell him the meds aren\'t working. They need to find something that\'s going to work. Morphine is a terribly potent drug that has side effects on your mood...Be patient with yourself and keep talking to your doc about meds. If they aren\'t working for you, you have to be really proactive about finding combinations that will. Everyone is different, so meds will be different for each person. You WILL get better!

Yes I am sure that medicaid will help!! I forgot that you will be having that insurance now. Take good care of yourself and try to have some hope..better things are coming your way! You are young and your body can bounce back from these bad times. It\'s hard to accept this illness that we have, but you will find that you can be strong and enjoy life in spite of this. I got sick at 30 and now I\'m 50. I\'ve made it 20 years in one piece, and will make it 20 more years, one day at a time :)

Hello my dear. I cannot even imagine getting this awful disease at your age, but I have been thru my own personal hell since 1994 when I had my shoulders crushed boarding an Avis Van because the driver was not paying attention and she closed the doors while I was getting on. From then until I was diagnosed 2 years ago with RA and Osteoarthritis, I have been in constant pain from one accident after another and surgery upon surgery. What I have learned and what I want to share with you is this: constant pain creates depression, therefore it is important that you not only have a good anti-depressant, but also a very good therapist. I lucked out and found a psychiatrist who also counsels. Many only write the scripts and leaves the therapy to a social worker or a psychologist. You require two doctors that way. But know that the depression is normal and it is important to have someone you can talk to about your situation. When you are my age (59 on the 13th) your friends tend to also have things wrong with them. You have it much harder than us older farts! Another thing I would recommend is get on a good sleep schedule. My new RA put me on sleeping pills. At first I was against the idea but now that I am actually sleeping 8 hours at a time I am feeling so much better. Hang in there dear.
