Trusting

{{From a mssg I rec'd & replied.:}}  .  // " "  marks generally mean my own (Caleb's) DS friend, and  [ ]  are around my words.   .    //Hi   .   .   :)   .   .   Am happy to rec. y'r reply.
" ...though  I don't think there's many of us that are truly unconditionally loved by a large number...   {Caleb's DS friend}
[Tho not sure how {Caleb here} U meant this,  ..'large number' is not an interesting idea to, well to probably both of us.  There are pro'ly those who can thrive on  ###  but some of us can't focus on more than a modest # of individuals..with whom to exchange 'soul energy.'
" (cont'd)  of people -- most people have expectations and conditions on their love of others, and in this society, it's hard to know who to trust."   .   {Caleb's friend again.}
[{Cal:}Yes; true.  I might have been lucky, growing up in a small, closed farm community.  It was homogeneous; often a family's reputation went generations back.  The negative ppl were known, more or less.  I might have been in my  30's  before having unpleasant experiences to the degree that I began to be guarded.
[My parents were good judges of character.   --Which is a topic by itself; the Bible sometimes says or somewhere at least it's suggested that if one is naive and totally unjudgemental everywhere, that's good.   .  :-I ,  hmm that can be overdone; many occupations require astuteness re character.  And if one is raising children, it needs to be taught how to stand up for oneself -- well I mean to spot trouble before it arrives.  Knowing the sheep from the goats.]
"I consider {friend} myself fortunate to have had my dad, and to have my husband and a few very close friends that accept me just as I am.  That's enough for me -- I didn't...
[Perhaps you and dh have not had children.  A couple I've begun to be friends with I think are childless.  Thru the years they've become loners to a degree.   .   :-I
: (cont'd)  write that as something sad, necessarily, just as an observation.  I don't have much family, it's part of the reason I am on this board."
"I put people who like me and enjoy my company in a different category than those who love me.
"I truly appreciate you reaching out -- feel free to message me anytime if there's ever anything you'd like to share."
{Am enjoying this communication.  .  :)  }
