Triplet Update
good morning girls....pregnancy update, please skip if you need to. i get it.
I've been MIA mostly b'c I'm too sick to write, but I have been keeping up with all of you and sharing in your joys and your heartaches. I know several are starting a cycle soon and I am crossing everything and saying my prayers. If anyone deserves it, it's my DS sisters.
As for me, we are progressing well! I am 14 weeks/4 days today, and all four of us are growing, growing, growing! We have told most of our close family and friends, all of whom are in awe and excited for us! of course, there are always the nay-sayers, who think that I can't possible handle three infants, and how are we going to survive?
to them, i say" BITE ME. of course I am nervous and worried (about my health, about my babies' health, about my pregnancy, about the future) - but this is a HUGE blessing and I don't need anyone else's ignorance contributing to my already nervous heart!
We had our NT scan, and babies are measuring perfectly. I can't really do most of the traditional blood work that could show any issues, b'c they don't really work for triplets. but to be honest, it doesn't bother me. the results would not change anything, so it is just not that important to me.
I start cervix checks on July 16th and I am just hoping that bed rest, if needed, isn't any time soon. I need to stay working as long as possible b'c I only get 6 months of short term disability and that includes time with my peanuts once they are born!!
My anatomy scan is August 1st and of course I am nervous about that, but I just keep breathing and taking it one week at a time.
thanks for all of your support.

Congrats on 14 weeks! That\'s awesome! I\'m so excited for you! Triplets will be so amazing! Of course, it will be hard, but having a good support system will be great... those naysayers are stupid ass heads anyways. Those comments reflect their own fears, and they have nothing to do with how you will get by. You will be great!
I hope that you stop feeling sick soon, and bed rest is a long time away! 6 months leave is fantastic! But I do hope you get it all to spend with the babies!
Congrats on 14 weeks - that is a great milestone. I\'m sure it will be hard, but no doubt that you will do great with them. Good luck!
thank you girls! I appreciate the confidence :-)
I am in awe of your triplets! I can not imagine 3. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around my twins, so I think you are amazing! Yay for them looking good at your NT scan! That is so amazing you get 6 months leave! I am jealous! I hope a lot of that is while the babies are here and not for bed rest!
Hope you start feeling better soon. I think I have started to turn the corner on this nausea stuff, so hopefully you start to as well!
yeah, the six months will be great....it\'s only 66% of my pay but whatever, I\'ll make it work. I wish I could stay home with them forever!!!! so happy to hear you\'re turning the corner on the nausea. how are you doing otherwise?
Well I get zero weeks paid time off for maternity leave. So 6 months at 66% sounds amazing!!! I am trying to save up as much vacation time as I can so I can at least get paid for some of the time I will take. At this point I will probably only get 6 weeks off (not all paid) before financially I will have to head back to work. Luckily my husband is self employed so he will be a stay at home/working from home daddy! Which I am so jealous of him!
I am doing well. NT scan was yesterday and they look perfect. They have consistently measured a week+ ahead, so I am thinking they may take after daddy in the height category. I go to the thyroid specialist today to see whats going on with my thyroid and if we need to do anything about my levels.
that is wonderful! in theory, I don\'t get paid maternity leave. however, I was advised many years ago to sign up for short term disability with my job and since I did, I have access to it for my leave. however, the catch is i have to have a doctor sign it every month indicating i still need to be on \"disability leave\". the pro to being a high risk pregnancy (and having an awesome doctor) is that they will sign those papers with no problem. it\'s kind of a loop hole.
Hmmm interesting... we also have short term disability... I wonder if we have the same loop hole?
I would definitely look into it - can you talk with your HR person? there is NO reason you shouldn\'t qualify, given you\'re having twins (and even if you weren\'t, a cool doctor would sign the paper).
Congrats hun! You willl be a wonderful mommy :)
I am so glad to hear that things are going well! Thinking of you!!
I am reading this from the beach while my baby boy has a dance party in my belly and I\'m in tears so so happy for you!!! Triple the love and cuddles! I\'ll be 28 weeks this weekend and all our rainbow babies are always in my prayers! Can\'t wait to hear more updates on your beautiful journey!!!
I am so so happy for you and thrilled that the 4 of your are doing well. Praying for a very healthy pregnancy and very limited time on bed rest for sure!!!
It will be so amazing to spend time with your 3 babies when they arrive, i say screw everyone else! This will be your norm anyways, not like you have anything to compare it to!! haha
Triplets sound fantastic, obviously also terrifying but truly amazing. I hope everything continues to go well for you. Can you feel them moving much sooner since there are 3 of them??
