Tribute to my sister
The memorial and services for my sister were great yesterday and today. I performed 3 songs; Psalm 62, Here Comes The Sun and Forever Kitty. The last song I wrote and was very well received. All together Kitty's kids were incredible and her son who is the oldest was a rock for all his sisters. He did a great job on putting it all together and I was so glad when he stepped up because I remember how hard it was when my mom died (his grandmother). But he did so much more in less time. Kitty's oldest daughter and her husband really made the memorial with their work on putting together a DVD with Kitty's family pictures andĀ favorite songs. We all have large family's so this was not easy trying to get something of everyone with Kitty in there. My parents had over 30 grandchildren and that is not counting the great grand children. It was wonderful to see all my family and a few friends I have thought about over the years but could not locate. It makes you think about a lot of things in a different light. How much love there is and how it is worth saving. So that's it I guess, that is all you really take with you. I have always said "Love as much as you can, make peace when ever possible and never say die till God comes to take you.My sister Kitty loved to entertain and was famous for her parties and extravagant gifts. People always bribed her to be her gift exchange person. Because of this it would lead to hilarious fights over cheating when drawing names at Christmas time. Kitty believed in me and was one of my biggest fans. I will miss her so much.........:(A special thanks to all my friends here at DS for caring and sending me such wonderful messages and emails. I love you all for the little things you do. You make me feel not so alone and help me find my way duringĀ very difficult times....I have put the song I wrote for Kitty "Forever Kitty" on my MySpace page. The link is in my profile on the front of my DS page if you would like to here it. To those who know my music you will recognize it as "Heaven Inside." This was a song my sister and I were working on as a tribute to our mother. I have changed the title to "Forever Kitty" and the second verse is about her. The term of endearment she had for me was from Gunsmoke.....matt
