travelling is synonymous to drinking sea water for me

Now that university is resuming in less than a week, I am scared at the thought of travelling yet again. It is not easy to sit in the public bus for 2 hours and sometimes with the traffic jam much more. I hate the very idea of it.
This adds up to why i don't like going to the university. Well, does someone has any tips of how to like travelling, i mean sitting in this noisy bus for 4 hours (the return tripas well). What can one do to make it enjoyable and less hectic?
I always carry my phone with me for music but this also does not work to the extent of making me fond of travelling. I keep on nagging my parents, why can't we live in the city where you have all the facilities and everything is near. As a result, i will not be tired with these boring and unnecessary long journeys.
Please help me with tips and advice. I'll be very thankful to you all.
Love
from me... :)

Learn the practice of extending awareness. Darlene Cohen, zen teacher and zen priest wrote a wonderful book called, Turning Suffering Inside Out.

If you have a laptop, you can do some good work on Daily Strength. Reading something you enjoy, or working on a small project that you create with your hands while sitting on the bus. Perhaps starting a project to crochet, knit, or sew something for people in need.

:)Thank you! But here in mauritius, the bus is so noisy and no space at all. I tell you, sometimes, i have to stand for more than half an hour only to find a small and unpleasant place. But your suggestion is good,i admire it. I will have to find some other project as you said by myself to keep me busy and feeling less bored. If you have other suggestions, i\'ll welcome them with all my heart :) btw, as you said about meditation and yoga, i have them made one of my goals but i\'ll really need support from everyone in here!! that\'s why we are here, aren\'t we?
Thank you!

I dislike traveling too. Every holiday I have to lug myself and my kids on a plane. Its a 4 hour ride too. I try to sleep through the ride if I can. Just so I don\'t have to deal with the discomfort. How about brining some handheld games setting up some friends to talk to during the long ride. Sometimes thats what I do. I call most of my friends, the ones who like to talk and I have a blast gossiping and just talking about everything. By the time you know the ride is over.

Thank you mom1623! Yes, i usually get friends on my way to college but when it becomes a routine, it naturally becomes boring. I guess i should try something creative this time, any idea about something which is interesting and easy to do on a bus ride? :)
anyway, i thank you for your concern, have a nice time with your kids...
