Trauma Changes Our Brains Physically
We tend to forget that C-PTSD and PTSD trauma changes our brains physically and we can't function the same. This is a medical area. Some therapy may help. But it can't cure.
A change of perspective: Take a person that gets a spinal injury and can never walk again. The only help this person can hope for is to get a wheel chair or if lucky leg braces. Which is better then being bed ridden. Therapy can only hep this person go through the morning of all they have lost.
There are a few differences between the two, such as we can see a person in a wheel chair and know they are injured and there for do not expect them to be able to do certain things. Our suffering is not as noticeable and there for we do not get the same consideration and are often further abused and neglected because of it not being visible.
Another difference we have is, that people don't realize that we are in morning for our losses. -Things like not having a job, not taking care of our selfs, being embarrassed by our out bursts, not being able to keep or make friends and to top it off living in fear.
Most of these losses are visible signs of our injury's, but are not seen that way. Instead we are seen as mean, lazy and aloof. The best we can hope for is medication to help balance our injury's and learning a new way to cope. But like the person with a spinal injury, we will always be disabled.
