Took the day off today
Well, for the most part - I did get dressed, and not in jeans and a tee shirt, and I went to the post office, then stopped at Town Hall to deliver the tax payments for my mother, but otherwise, I just watched the "Being Human" marathon on tv.
Yesterday was a really busy day, and not altogether pleasant. My younger brother and I went and arranged my mother's funeral, and prepaid for it. Then I had to take the girl to her therapy lesson.
She was in a bad mood, and argued with me in the waiting room, which prompted the therapist to call me in to the session (which the girl hates), and the girl would not let me speak, stating that I was making the session "all about me", then I left.
I was very stressed out all day, and today, I strove to "destress", although I don't know how well it worked.
Whether or not she still lives, my mother is already gone. When I visit her, you can barely hold a conversation with her, and she is usually face down on the table when I get there. It is a rare thing that she is alert at all when I arrive, but she cannot carry on a conversation for long.
My brother, who was here with her, says that this is how she has been for a while, which does explain why she would never stay on the phone for very long. But I just don't know how to handle it, really. It's very difficult.
I visit her every other day or so, because I don't want her to feel alone, but I don't know how long she'll be in there, or how long she's going to hold out. The longer she holds out the more time I'll have to prepare myself, but the less of an "inheritance" is going to be left for me. After thinking about it, having an inheritance would be better than not, but either way, whatever.
