Too fat to be accepted

My mom constantly makes digs about my weight.  Today she said, "Oh you'd feel so much better if you lost 10 pounds."  Because of bad management of my synthroid medication, I gained 30lbs almost like over night.  I already was overweight when this happened.  I soooooooooo wanted to say, "No YOU'D feel better if I lost 10 pounds," because all she cares about is appearances and me being WAY overweight just upsets he Mary Poppins world.  I eat because I'm depressed, I'm depressed because I eat.  I have a chemical imbalance treated with meds.  that keeps me very functional, but living with my mom is bringing me down.  I know I need to start saving up money to get a car and move out, but buying stuff on-line helps numb the pain of my own mother being terribly rude and ashamed of me.

My family also shames me too about my weight. My brother always compares himself to me stating he is not as overweight as I am. I am lazy about my weight though and could do something about it. However, the criticism does not help and shaming me to feel bad about my weight makes me ignore them. I plan to lose weight when I feel like it. You are not alone.

Thanks brainiac1. I feel the same way in regards to your comment about losing weight when I feel like it...all shaming does is drive me to the icecream! I\'ve never weighed as much as I do now, but I also like myself like I never have too. Strange...Good look with your own journey of weight loss, I wish you all the best!
