Tomorrow
Someone told me tomorrow will be a better day. Every day she would tell us this with a smile....often we did ask if it was tomorrow yet?
Now, so many years later I am realizing if we do try we can quite possibly control this ourselves. I have been through alot in my lifetime...spent most of it feeling inadequate, unimportant, and unloved.
After 10 of 15 years of marriage not being touched, being ignored and often discounted....I did shut down.....simply going through the motions looking forward to absolutely nothing.
Then someone did flip a switch. I was hearing compliments, encouragement and positive feedback. Someone did want to hear all I had to say and accepted me just as I am (good and bad)Finally I was free from shame and hangups that I always associated with any kind of physical touch. And suddenly I just wanted to open up and share and learn about everything and everyone.
Recently I have come to realize while I am currently unhappy in my marriage, I am content in other respects. My job, how I now communicate with everyone...(often a few kind words do brighten an otherwise dreary day for alot of lonely people.)
I still hope and pray that I may find someone special to love and love me.....If I am not that lucky I am hoping that I may learn to be content with just me......
And tomorrow will be a better day.
