you mom from the past post seems unstable since she\'s looking to move in with her bf she\'s only known for a little over a month. a lot of parents unfortunately don\'t think their kids can be depressed because they\'re kids but that\'s wrong. you have an appt. set and that\'s a first big step. i hope you will have the courage to follow through if that is what you\'re really wanting. hopefully they will help you.
take care little one.

I hope you keep your apt. They will give you other tools to cope with your life and eventually, you can use those instead of cutting. Share as much as you can so the doc has a better understanding as to why you cut. Let us know what happens plz. Take best care as you can today sweetie.

Honey, I was depressed probably since I was about 10. That was waaaay back in the past when NOBODY ever admitted to being depressed. I was around 22 when I finally got help for myself. It was the best choice I ever made in my life. I have been on antidepressants for years now and they enable me to live a normal, happy life. Depression is an imbalance of brain chemistry--it\'s not something that cutting, or deciding to change, or having someone tell you to change, can help. Therapy actually has proven to be about as effective as medication, but the best scenario is both together. I hope you\'ll keep your appointment--you deserve to get all the help and support you need, even if your mom doesn\'t realize it. Please let us know how it goes. A psychiatrist will understand that you cut for a reason, and he will help you find the reason and solve it. You won\'t be judged--it\'s a way you\'ve found to help yourself feel better, and when you find better ways to cope you won\'t have to cut. You are valuable and important--please take care of yourself, okay?
Sending prayers, Carol
