The unknown can be very scary. What my therapist does when I express fear is he has me list everything that is scaring me. It helps me to visually see my fears rather than just keep them in my head. We then go over what exactly is making me feel so scared about each individual fear on the list. Talking about my fears that way has really helped me to face them better than if I had not done it this way.
I just wanted to share that with you if you ever want to try it out. It may or may not work for you as each person is different.
I'm not use to being around a lot of people someone or many people around me a lot makes me feel uncomfortable thats a big one right now my foster mom and foster brother is here a lot then my foster dad later in the day plus the appointments idk these people it's just to much
You're taking a lot of new in and you're feeling very overwhelmed. You experienced a lot of trauma and you're in shock right now. Try and focus on your breathing and relax. Keep writing your feelings out too. Get them out of your mind so they don't just stay in there. Writing and talking about your feelings helps to make them lose power and strength. You're going to be ok. Just take it slow and one minute at a time.
Can I type them here in my journal?
Everyone has a fear of the unknown because we get use to the things we use to do. They become habits when we do the same things every day but when that changes, yes, it can be very scary but we get through it with the support of those around us. Once the people you mentioned get to know you, they will love you as much as we do. Just be honest and say, I am a little nervous and they will open their arms to you, I am sure!
God Bless
I hope Kiwasicu doesn't mind me answering, but yes you can. It can really help to write out your feelings. If you feel comfortable sharing them in your journal, then please do. We will always be here to listen.
It's also OK to need your space, though it can feel uncomfortable asking for it. When you find yourself feeling that way, it's fine to tell your foster family that while you like spending time with them, you also need some time alone to process what you're going through.
Facing the unknown can be super scary. Just keep taking one day at a time. You're doing a great job! Hugs.
Honey, your journal is For You, You Can Write What Ever You Want....I'm your friend, so I can see what you journal and respond. There is a setting for Private Journal that Only You Can See or keep a journal as a 'draft' that way it's totally private to you. On the top right of the screen there is a search, envelope and two people....if you click on the two people, below you will see "edit" if you click on that you'll see ways of adjusting your page....if you don't want your journal to be seen by people ''''Who Are Not Your Friends" then click journal and you'll see where you can make it "only friends".
You have a bedroom of your own....if you are feeling overwhelmed, just let your foster's know you need some quiet time...or if you don't want to say anything, "I'm tired I 'm going to take a nap'.....I'm SO Happy to read that you will be seeing a therapist tomorrow!!!! And a dr apt too...that means the foster's are doing their job!
One Day At A Time or 1 minute or 1 hour....deep breaths, and write anything you want here cause it's your space...We ALL care so much about you and Want The Best For You!!!
