Today we begin, first of my appointments,it's a start

Good morning journal, the time is now 8:46am and I have been awake for about one hour.Today,we begin the first steps in what I hope will be more intense treatments for my illnesses,I have the first of my scheduled appointments with a guy called Darren in Bispham, the next small town to where I live,at 3:00pm,he will make an assessment on my physical condition with a view to me being enrolled in the next pulmonary rehab class which begins in September. We will discuss my breathing difficulties and my current medication so that he can decide what level of exercise I am capable of,it's a beginning.Tomorrow,I have to go to the local hospital and have blood drawn, that means that I have to fast from midnight tonight, shouldn't be a problem as I have not been eating well,I haven't had a proper meal in around four days, not because the food wasn't there,I just don't have any appetite.I have been taking something called Ensure,it's a food supplement in drink form, but I know that my inability to take in solid food is,no doubt, the main reason for my current weakness. My mobility problems continue to be a problem,I only venture outside when it is absolutely necessary, and when I do,I am left totally exhausted by the experience.Other news?,we had a visit from a lady called Carol Jolly from the secondary mental health team last week, she was wonderful and had no hesitation in moving me up to her team, even our dogs didn't faze her,and she handled their requests for cuddles and loves, which were often and very determined,in her stride. She listened and made notes and said she would be in touch, she wasn't lying, that same afternoon she called with an appointment for August 23rd at 11:00am,and,because of my mobility problems, she is going to pick my wife and myself up in her car at 10:30am,now THAT is service!. She also asked me to let her know when I received my application pack for PIP(personal independent payment),which has replaced our former DLA(disabled living allowance),and has promised to help fill in the forms with me as she knows which particular criteria they are looking for.I received the forms and I have left a message on her answering service,I now just have to wait to hear from her so it is all good, thank you God!. I found it faintly amusing that the mental health services should have a lady called Jolly doing their initial assessment on prospective patients, but that just me I suppose.Wednesday?,I have to make an unscheduled appointment with my doctor to request a letter of support for my application for PIP,he has promised to write a personal letter rather than the standard reports they usually send from medical files,so,all in all,I'm pretty darned hopeful this time, but trying not to get too ahead of myself,it will be some time before we get a decision,so time to keep our feet on the ground just for the time being.Another helping hand from my Father in Heaven,on Saturday morning,we were wondering where our next few meals were coming from when the mail man called, and in among the mail was a letter from the inland revenue service, inside was a tax refund for £125:70pence,not too bad a week,my treatment is progressing AND we eat,(well,I would eat if I was able),but thank you Father for remembering us,your children, and we glorify your name as always through your Son and our Savior Jesus Christ,Amen. This morning,I feel calm and my breathing for now is unaided and pretty good, that is always a major plus, and I'm actually feeling a little positive for a change, there are still many bridges to cross and hurdles to overcome, but it's a beginning, and for the first time in months,I can see progress, all journeys start with one step,we have taken that first step,we have begun.Well journal, time to get dressed and meet the day head on,I am expecting to be extra tired this week so don't expect too much in the way of journal entries, till next time then, may God continue to walk with us,bless us,and may His peace and love fill our home and our hearts this day and in those to come.

Glad you are taking the first steps, hopefully the rest will all fall into place and you will find the peace. God is good and will never put more on us than we can bear.
Have a good week.
