Today's Breathing test

My results:
 
FVC is  2.99 letters  84% which is an improvement by 20% from last test
 
FEV1 is 0.80 Liters 28%  which is an improvement by 8% from last test
 
FEF25-75% is 0.25 L/sec  8% which is decreased by 18% from last test
 
PEF is 3.17 L/sec  52%  improved by 42%
 
 TLC is 6.51 Liters  111% is decreased by 25%
 
RV is 3.17 Liters 140% is decreased by 45%
 
DLCO 9.3mL/mmHg/min 35%  is decreased by 17%
 Pulse oximetry is 97% on room air
 
My pulmonary doctor has put me back on Prednisone for two weeks.
60 mg for 4 days
40 mg for 4 days
20 mg for 4 days
I have a lot of inflammation going on but no infection thank goodness.

Sorry about the inflamation issues. Hubby gets that alot. He can\'t go below 20mgs of pred a day anymore. Pollen is his enemy big time. Hope the two weeks of pred takes care of your inflamation. How\'s your weather? Have a good week. Hugs, Sandy

I am very concerned about the low DLCO which is 9.3 ML/mmHg/min 35%

Holly, you know your # better than I do. I have just always been told my fev1 which is 14% with my oxygen on 3. So .....you sound like you are doing great!

Holly, I understand about the lung diffussion, I have the same problem. You can get all the 02 you can breathe in but unless the lungs are efficient to move it, then the problem becomes much more worrisome.

Not sure how that number can go up . My doctor has not indicated anything other than severe difussion.

I try not to let the numbers overwhelm me unless there is something that I am not aware of that I could be doing.
