Today my mother came home

We didn't even get into the house.
There is a handicap access built into the stairs from the garage into the sun room, and we took the wheelchair from the car up to the stairs, and she grabbed the railing, took a stair up to the first stair, then (with me holding her) went limp and collapsed to the floor of the garage.
It was like a 3 year old when they don't want to do something, almost, but she would not let me pick her up. She told me over and over to sit in her wheelchair, because I would fit there, and sat on the floor sorting whatever she could reach.
I called my brother, and together, we could still not get her to her feet, let alone up the stairs.
We had to call the fire department. They got her up the stairs into her wheelchair in the sun room.
I have no idea how I can possibly handle this by myself.
She cannot even figure out how to try to get up if she falls, and goes completely limp and squeels and cries if you try to help her.
If it happens again, I'm going to have to have them take her to the hospital. Hopefully, by the end of a week I'll have all the paperwork to file with the VA for those benefits, and it won't take long to get her down to the amount for Medicaid.
She's going to have to go into a nursing home very soon. Even with home care I can't handle this, because she doesn't even have it in her to help. She reverted,  like a small child, and there was no convincing her what she needed to do.
God help us all.
