Today is the hardest so far
Today I told my husband that I have been lying to him for the last several months. He thought I was doing much better for us when in reality, I have continued to lie about how much money I have lost gambling. I had to tell him that I spent the bill money this week and that we are not going to have the money to cover the checks I wrote.
He told me that he can't forgive me anymore, that I am not really sorry since I continue to do the wrong things financially because of my addiction, and that he isn't sure he wants to work on things with our marriage anymore. I feel lost. How can I show him that I truly have little to no control over my actions?
I am scared for what comes next. We have three small children together and 10 years of a life we have built. I have changed that all with one confession. Was gambling so important that I am losing my husband for it?

your addiction was/is so strong, you were not thinking about your husband and children while doing it. that does not make you a monster: just an addicted person. the good news is you recognize it, and you\'re taking steps to get help for your addiction. please take the steps, and have faith that your marriage can hold together through this tough time.
