today is the day
it was last year, on the fourth, that a car pulled out in front of me when I was going 55 mph. It was two days later that the doctor ordered an MRI and I was diagnosed with MS. It does give me great sadness to think about that experience because it did change my life forever. I am lucky to be alive. There is a picture of my car on here. I just had to make it through the year. A year ago today, I was in a hospital room. I can remember waking up asking, "where am I, what happened". I wanted this pain to all be over in the year, and it has taken this long for the other guys insurance company to settle with me. I still have anxiety when being a passenger in a car, I have to close my eyes sometimes just to keep my anxiety level down. But, I made it through the year. I am still the same level headed person I have always been who uses common sense above everything. It is done and now I can move on.

I am a bad passenger, but a good driver.
Now when someone else drives, I take my IPad with and play games on it so I do not see their driving, I do not talk--that way they cannot say \"that would not have happened if I had not been listening to what you were saying, or if I had not been talking to you that would have not happened.\"
It works for me--cause I cannot be a passenger when my husband drives. it works for me.
Again, I am so sorry for your pain. I hope your lawyer gets you compensation.

Just a few years ago, I was a valet driver at a place in Spokane. Most of our garage was self parking. It was a 1928 Art Deco classic parking garage. I would be going to a floor to retrieve a car and time and time again someone would be testing their cars ability by driving through the cork screw design by speeding. I can\'t tell you how many times I had to dodge away just to keep from being hit. It was there that I decided that next to space flight and operating a nuclear power plant, driving a car is the most unsafe thing that humans do. Driving is a full time job and the driver must be attentive the entire time. The car that I had was a Yugo, I am sure that it was one of the last ones out there. The Yugo was one of the lightest cars ever produced and it still weighed 1,950 lbs., almost one ton. That would most certainly leave a dent if it hit you.
Congratulations for making it through your one year mark. The anxiety you experience when in a car is understandable. I hope you can get through that someday soon. If only everyone were careful drivers... I hope that court judgement makes it worth your wait! Stupid judicial system... Drags on a bit much. Here\'s to a great second year!
