Shorty, just because your current marriage lasted only 7 years, you do belong here. My guess is that perhaps some patterns or unresolved issues from your previous marriage carried over into the current one... I\'m not psychotherapist, but I have been divorced twice.
We\'re all here to listen, help and support each other, regardless of circumstance. I am sending you a friend request, as well.
Thoughts and prayers to you this Easter weekend.

Thanks. I think the hardest thing for me is because I did wait 10 years between marriages. I went into this one with my eyes wide open. We had 6 wonderful years together. Then the doctors put him on a drug that totally destroyed everything. He became very argumentative. The first rage took me totally by surprise. We were planning on going to a family wedding. He was excited. Then out of the blue he decided he didn\'t want to go with me because I didn\'t talk enough. The next time was because my grandson was spending a week with us and he and I were in the hot tub and splashed some water on the deck. Then it got to anything I said was critisized severly. I was walking on eggshells constantly and then since I didnt\' smile much I was depressed. He called the gynecologist to try to make me an appointment. I was on 2 antidepressants trying to become the person he thought I should be. Both were horrible. Then we had marriage counseling where finally the lady took me aside and told me maybe I should get out of the situation. He would not hear of a temporary separation. I talked to his doctor twice--he changed the dosage but then changed it back. He insisted he felt better than he had in years--I just didn\'t measure up to what he thought I should. He bought me gifts and then decided I wasn\'t using them enough so returned them. Finally he came home and said he had filed for divorce. Now he has lost his job--my job furnished the health insurance that provided the drug to begin with. Maybe at the cost of $600 a month he might have to give it up??

Shorty, please clarify something for me. What was the reason the doctors put him on the drug in the first place? Does he have a history of chronic depression or something else? Need to know this in order to fully comprehend.
Thanks.

He has cerebral palsy. He sufferes from anxiety--especially when medical situations are involved. He fell and dislocated his sholder. They had him on an antianxiety drug and he felt he needed more and more. Since he had been on it for many years, the doctor thought cymbalta would help. Within 6 weeks the rages started and he had muscles problems--his jaw tightening up and his back muscles hurting. They sent him to a neurologist and he tried a couple muscle relaxants and then put him a drug much like the one they took him off of. That helped with the muscle problems--though not totaly solving them. The doctor lowered the dosage once from 90 mg to 30mg. He started going through withdrawal and was even angrier at me. They raised it again to 60 mg. When searching the internet for info on the Cymbalta, his case was NOT out of the ordinary. He FORBID me to talk to the doctor again. I did call the dr and explained. He thought maybe they should raise the dosage--I explained how on the higher dosage he was running people off the road. He then thought maybe they should try a different one. X came home with a higher dosage of the same drug.
