TODAY IS A GOOD DAY

Yes, today is a good day for me and so i shall make the most of it.

I have two options each day. To look back at the year gone by and wallow in self pity or look ahead with positivity. I choose the latter.

Why wallow in self pity?

Simply because it was a roller coaster of a ride for me. Though I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis almost 10 years ago and have undergone 3 surgeries including Thymectomy, have suffered bad attacks of pneumonia, the last one year saw me through a Myasthenia crisis and a respiratory failure (as recent as last month)!

But look, I am here. The miracle me. The chosen child of the Lord!!! :-)

How did i survive all of it? Well, a doctor once said you won't die of Thymoma. I took him seriously .

However, another doctor said, be careful of your breath. You may get into a tight spot if you are breathless. I took him seriously too.

So when last year, all vitamins and proteins got deficient from my body, yes I was mal-nutritioned if you please and started to loose strength in my hands and feet and shoulders and started to have chewing and swallowing difficulties, i rushed to the doctor and the hospital in time.

I have been in and out of the ICU 3 times this year. 15 days each time or more. Returned tired and fed up. Worked on myself all over again as far as nutrition is concerned. Trained my mind to think positive. Got the mojo back.

I have started work from home since I am still on some respiratory support during the day and through the night, but what the heck...the good part? I decided to finally talk about it . About Myasthenia Gravis. A term I earlier never dared to utter because of my internal fears.

I have finally mustered up courage to share my experiences. Not only here but also on my new found love...blogging. You can see my posts and learnings and experiences on http://miracleme.cpallavirao.com.  Its about my life with Myasthenia Gravis and my life beyond Myasthenia Gravis. :-)

I am trying to cover all aspects of good health that I have learnt and am still in the process of learning. Trying to spread greater awareness about the auto immune disorder so that no one asks What is Myasthenia Gravis or What are the symptoms or causes of Myasthenia Gravis. You would be surprised that even senior doctors of the city are sometime clueless on this rare disorder. Sad.

Happy to answers questions on how to manage life with MG.

Cheers
