Today is a better day!

Just a quick note.  Lisa's birthday was tough.  I needed alone time to just cry and be with Lisa.  So when everyone was in bed, I lit candles, looked at photos and cried my eyes out.  It always helps to just feel the feelings.

Joe and I went for a long walk yesterday and a shorter one today.  It is typical April here in the North.  Yesterday it was quite lovely.  Today it feels a bit like winter is coming.  But the daffodils are up, the leaves are popping and the birds are chirping.  Today I can't complain.

Thanks to my SOTH for getting me through another birthday.

Those days are tough, for me I am usually at work so I must keep a face on. When I get home the gloves are off, and the tears flow.

I am sending you a very tight hug
Happy Birthday Lisa

I hope today your feeling better. I know how it hurts, how much we want things as they were...It seems lately I am consumed with death and dying. I think my mom's death has hit me hard and yet I have not shed a tear since the morning she passed. It's different than it was or is with Ken..I just seem to question so much lately. What do we do...just be sad, pick our selves up and keep going. Oh I wish I could say some wise thing to help you, help me, help all of us but I can't. I am just sorry you were in so much pain...I know how much you miss your Lisa...sending you love...Sandi

I am missing in action most of the time... I think you're right to just let go and feel the pain... seems like most of the time we're so busy being and doing what everyone else needs... crazy but that time when we let ourselves feel it all... I feel closer to Cara in a way... like all the rest of the time I'm pushing her away so I can deal with what everyone else needs... I'm sorry that you were sad but in a way... perhaps it was a gift... Hugs to you and Joe and your Lisa,
Elissa, Richard and Cara

I'm grateful that you navigated the day as intentionally and gently as you could. Feeling what you needed to and leaning into it is where I believe the healing is.

Loving care your way dear Marlene, and understanding the deep longing for your Lisa.

Sounds like you have Lisa right at your side celebrating her life and love, and this is what really counts. Sending you some peace today. Hugs, Kathy

That alone time with our kids is SO important. Crying, laughing, even just staring into space; just feeling their presence with us and talking to them, it's so needed. Especially on "those" days.

Lots of love to you and Lisa!

Marlene, those days are tough and I'm guessing always will be for us moms.
I think I have learned it's ok to feel what I need to feel however that looks on any given birthday or angel date. Our SOTHS are good teachers; I learned to honor my feelings here.
Glad you are feeling better. Some days are just excruciating but so grateful for the days that are gentler. Much love to you and dearest Lisa, Linda ♡
