Today I did it....

I can't believe, I have my scrapbook half done.  I didn't even feel I could do it, but it was worth it.  Finding things in his baby book...bringing back sweet memories, holding his little ring he wore, his necklace out of string he wore around his neck for Bible School.  I think that making a scrapbook is really a good thing to do...I did not cry, I just remembered the happy time, the smiles on his face as he did different things, holding his new born brother's and so proud of them....seeing a lot of his "first" he did.  Oh I could fill up a thousand books, I think.  I want to make copies of the scrapbook for the family.  I would like to give a copy to his son on his birthday in July...I hope that would be a good ideal.  But it was worth it to me to do...So many memories, so many happy times sorta get lost in our grief sometimes, I do believe.  As I looked at the pictures today, it brought back those times, and yes it brought some sadness knowing there won't be more pictures taken in the future, but it actually gave me more smiles than anything.  So if you can and have thought of not doing it,,,,give it a try,,,you might find it is good therapy, at least I feel it did.
To all you wonderful friends, how would I ever live without each of you.  Your insights are so appreciated and so well meaning...thank you so much.
I finally posted a profile of me and hubby so maybe you will know us when we get to the retreat...If not we can just look at each other and think "I know them from somewhere"  then we will remember, Great, that is my wonderful friend from DS..
So looking forward to meeting each of you at the retreat....Take care...For the dad's out there, we don't forget you, we know it is rough on Mother's Day and we know it is hard for your all too...So for you dad's I say, cry if you want, talk about it if you want, just remember us mom's are there for you too.
Your friend,
Sandi

What a wonderful entry Sandi! You are inspiring me to get a scrapbook going as well ~ though a lot of our Corrie stuff is stored in Seattle so it will have to wait.

You are soooo photogenic and you and your hubby are a beautiful couple!

Keep up the great progress!

Sending much love and many hugs ~ Debbie

Oh, I\'m so envious. I don\'t have a crafty bone in my body. I think giving his son a scrap book is priceless. I\'m glad you\'re having a good time working on it and cherishing the memories. Much love. Robin

It is wonderful, to hold those precious little reminders, of the good times. I found Chad\'s first walking shoes, durning the move. He had minor foot problems. The shoes are brown and ugly, but brought back sweet memories. I wish sweet memories for you. And for Dad, today...Hugs. Gay

Glad you\'re making progress and doing things that \'don\'t make you cry\'. That\'s a hard one at first. Certain things still tear me up instantaneously. But I was always one who cries easily, when I\'m sad and when I\'m very happy as well. Guess when got gave us tears I got an extra helping. They always make me feel better, so perhaps it\'s not a bad thing.
Your scrapbook sounds wonderful. No doubt it will always bless your heart and spirit when you look at it.
Hugs, Sandy

I have many photos compiled some for the scrapbook and others for those digital photos frames. I have the frame on often but not as much as before. I know that my emotions are moving along for the better. I am able to do so many things that needed to be done. There has been so much lifted off my shoulders since doing. It appears that you are doing well to have created the scrapbook. Happy for you and for the scrapbook. Still we will always remember and Love. Wish I could see it.
