To my friends
I just noticed that it has been 11 days since I last wrote a journal entry. Believe me, there are a lot of things I would like to write about. However, as in person, I guess I sometimes find it difficult to express what is going on in my life...good and bad. DS has been a marvelous way for me to learn to be more sharing of my life with others...but old habits die hard. Often times when I'm driving, I have all of these thoughts in my head of what would be great to write in a journal. However, at night, when I'm at the keyboard, I guess the mind freezes and the documenting those feelings doesn't happen. On the other hand, I do enjoy very much getting to know most of you a lot better. I spend most nights reading the journal entries you have all made...and I try to respond in some fashion. I may not always know what to say and certainly don't always have any "magic" words of inspiration, but I do try and leave some type of message so that you know I have read your journal entries and wish you well. I also try to come up on discussions on the various group boards I am subscribed too. Again, I may not have anything profound to say, but I do try and let folks know that I have read their discussion thread and try to respond in some fashion. It's funny because whether I am responding to someone's journal entry or a group discussion thread, it seems easier for me to express my feelings, opinions, experiences that it is for me to initiate such a discussion on mine own in my own journal. I guess I find it easier to "let my guard" down and respond to someone when may be experiencing similar problems/feelings that I face...and it is easier for me to respond to them. Last Decemeber, I started a private journal log for my children. Just something that I will randomly enter thoughts/feelings, etc. into. I thought it might be a nice gift to give them someday when they are adults...to know how I experienced life being a father while watching them grow up...and hopefully to give them some guidence when they are parents raising kids someday. Unfortunately, like this journal, I sometimes find it difficult to sit down and make a journal entry. Something I definitely ned to work on. Maybe a good 2009 new year's resoltion? In any case, I hope you are all well. I pray for all of you each day. I share in your sorrows when things are not going well and cheer for you when things are going well. It has been a Godsend for me in finding this DS environment and to get to know such great folks as you my friends. Take care and be well!

sweetheart every word of support you write is enormous gift to us. you are so giving, so thoughtful, your words always truely inspiring. I know its not always so easy when you sit down and open that ones journal entry page, empty page waiting for words but never so easy to let them all go or know what to say with so many things running all thru ones mind.
Im glad you feel ds is a godsend because I for one believe that is true, its having wonderful caring friends like you that make it so beautiful.
The journal idea for your kids is a real gift, even if you dont write in it as often as you would like, its a gift that your children will treasure forever.
God bless you hun, I wish you well. angel hugs Nikki xx
fuzzy, I too am usually on the advice giving end of a conversation... It has always been easier for me to help others than it is to accept help... Mostly because I do not like to let people into my head or thoughts. Also, because I don\'t want to burden people with my problems when they have their own to deal with. DS is a place where I can put my thoughts down in writing... if people read t and respond that is fine.. if not, that is fine too.... I can still go back and read what I was thinking or feeling, and work on fixing it... It will come.. it took me awhile to put anything out there... but, now I try to put stuff out there.. I still hold things in.... even from here.. but, I am 100% more open on DS then I am in real life.... Because, in real life, to verbalize something means someone is listening... On here, noone is listening... But if they choose to read that is not my choice to bother them... I guess that is my way of saying, I don\'t ask for help, but if someone reaches out, I will not disrespect them... and in turn, I look around, and if I find someone I might have some advice for, I will reach out as well... So, keep on doing what you do.. it will get easier... Have A Great Day!!!

This journal expresses your feelings, I know I have felt the same way as you about what to say, how I feel etc. so this is good sharing. I think you have been a really nice friend to listen and help others, I am really glad I have you as a friend and found you on D.S.
I know what you mean about the journal. What I do is I think about what I should put in my journal and then usually think it too stupid and don\'t enter anything lol. What a wonderful thing to create a journal for your children. I am sure they will be so happy to have it when they are older. Blessings. Teresa
Its always easier to support others than help ourselves i guess. Good idea about the journal for your children. i might do that for my little one if i ever find the time!
Hows things other than that? Are you keeping well?
