To Do For Myself
I woke up today in sooo much pain. When I first wake up I tend to dose as I stay in bed. I will sleep for 5-15 min's then wake once again. When the PSW came by she saw my sleeping she left not wanting to wake me. The longer I stayed in bed the more pain I was in. For some reason the pain is cut in half or more once I am in my chair. It takes about an hr but it does get better. When I am in bed in the mornings the pain killers do nothing, they do not touch the pain. Once I am in my chair & the pain is reduced the pain killers do their job & the pain is almost gone.
I am often not washed & up until 11 am. Not only do I miss the morning groups I am in tons of pain. So I asked if the PSW could get me into my chair just after 7 am. Not to help me wash or dress(as breakfast is 7:20). So I would like to be able to sit at the sink & wash as much as I can on my own. Right now I have good strength & movement. From the research I have done it may not last. The chemo is great at reducing the number of attacks you have. It is said to reduce the size of the lesions but that does not always reduce the disability. It is probable that once the steroids stop working I will go back to being paralyzed from the chest down. So I will like a time when I can do for myself. We are going to try this tomorrow. When I was talking about this to someone today they asked what I was going to do when I got paralyzed again. Most of the time when I am paralyzed the pain is reduced. I guess there is good in everything if we choose to look for it.

Wow, you are amazing. You help me so much to look at the good everywhere. Even in the seemingly hopeless places. To see the positive of no pain if you are paralyzed... That really caught me off guard to read. I appreciate your strength and wisdom so that I can try better in my life!
I totally agree with Tracey. You remain my inspiration.
I am also a big fan, love the way you focus on the positives!
